The story of Prophet SAM'UN and LAITUL QADAR (SAMSON & DELILAH)
- The story is told by Habib Zainal Abidin Asegaff last night (08 JULY 2014) at Arrahmah-Pondok Gede Mosque, Bekasi City West Java. Please correct if there is anything wrong.
Taukah who is the Prophet SAM'UN?
In Hebrew it is called SAMSON & DELILAH.
In Islam, he is one of the Prophets who lived in the time of Prophet Musa A.S with the name of the Prophet SAM'UN A.S.
Prophet SAM'UN A.S with the permission of Allah SWT known to have a strong body and very strong, to be able to knock down a burly palace even then.
One time in his life he vowed to Allah SWT that want to live devoted to Allah SWT by not out of where he was silent. He built a tent in which he remained silent and worshiped Allah Almighty without leaving the place. So unfortunately God Almighty, God finally grew the vine and the tree was fruitful when the Prophet SAM'UN A.S was hungry. Prophet SAM'UN A.S never said that he was hungry or thirsty, he just focus on worshiping Allah SWT.
When he is hungry, the one who feeds the grape is an angel. SUBHAN ALLAH.
One time a despotic King of the country was willing to hunt down the Prophet SAM'UN U.S. and persuade the wife of the Prophet of SAM'UN to divulge the weakness of the Prophet. as a result, the prophet told me that his weakness is in his long hair. When cut, then he will become weak.
Then one day, when Prophet Sam'un was sleeping, the hair was cut off by the Prophet and after that he became weak. that's when the Prophet Sam'un was arrested and brought before King and King ordered to blind the eyes of the Prophet Sam'un.
Prophet Sam'un A.S then prayed to Allah SWT to lengthen his age and lengthened his hair back to be able to drown the king's palace along with all the people and his wife who had oppressed and also himself ready to die with the unjust King.
And when his hair was long, it was done and he died with the unjust people, the King and his court were destroyed.
Want to know how long he worships Allah SWT? he worshiped Allah SWT for one thousand months.
The promise of Allah SWT about LAILATUL QADAR is a night for Muslims in the month of Ramadan with the good that has been done by the Prophet SAM'UN A.S coupled with all the good that ever existed.
So we as Muslims, be earnest in worshiping Allah SWT especially in this Ramadan, may God willing we can reach that night.
the end of Ramadhan is indeed more and more worldly challenges, but which one we will first when considering this story.
May Allah SWT can give forgiveness to his people who get this QADAR LAILATUL.
