What a Complete Mess at College, Horrible Management. Waste Of Time

Coming into college on a day that I usually had off. That's a monday. First of all the college internet stopped working

Usually we had the lesson for unit 47 on Thursday 4pm till 7pm evening which just worked for everyone but the new head of engineering decided that there will be no evening lessons as it's more expensive.

So they moved it to Monday. I came in on 9am as told by the lecturer the other day, and realised that there was no one from my class in the classroom we were supposed to have it in. There was infact a new teacher that I never seen before in there teaching a unit I've already done, so I decided to look for my teacher in the lecture room - nope not there. I went to the office and asked my tutor Hazel if she seen him and no she did not, no one seen him not even my other lecturer Ian. We went to the head of engineering Kerry who often has no time to talk (not sure why she tells everyone to go away effectively) and asked her where is the lecturer and she had no idea that the lesson was on and nor did she have the contact to him. She asked if other people from class came in, no they did not I was the only one who came in and made the effort. So we asked around and we realised that the lecturer just came inside the office. So I asked is there a lesson and he said yes there is. We had to get a hold of my classmates by call and one of them was actually asleep, that one called another classmate to come in so they made their way still being 1 hour late and still didn't come in yet. I asked my lecturer if he had the assignments we need for unit 47, and he said yes I have it but BTEC did still not verify it and he sent 3 emails already and no one replied. That is sad because then how do we complete the unit in time? Its so hard that's one thing and second we finish in June now we have April... And that is not even our fault! The management sucks in this college totally. One other thing I must say the lecturer is also a university teacher for AI he taught in UCL. He is making his way to this college without being payed for it, out of his good will he teaches us as he wants us to succeed. He is not payed as the college has no funds and many great teachers left because of that and also bad treatment by the management.

So in the mean time I looked for John another lecturer in order to get assignment breifs for unit 44 ( untaught unit) but could not find him. Seems everyone is looking for everyone. Many of the units we were told to do on our own as there is not enough teachers we were told to do it 2 months ago, which is really little time as this is a 2 year course and now I have to do 6 extra units making it 16 units in total and those units are not even fully completed yet. This really worries me as it might affect my future without it even not being my fault.

Anyway, when waiting for the people to arrive we realised the lecture theatre was taken and so was the original class as mentioned before, so we could only use Ian's classroom which is a lab. Funny enough Ian doesn't usually have lessons on Monday morning but today unexpectedly he had to cover a teacher that was not in. So he went there and we needed the key for the classroom, so again searching for Ian took long as no one knew where was the class he was covering the lesson in. After a long search, my lecturer found a key. He let me sit in the classroom with the key in my hand and not let anyone in. A lady called Fiona from the work experience office came by asking me where can she find another teacher because he was scheduled to be in this classroom now. I told her to look in the offices. This shows even more disorganisation. Just wow. As I sat here I saw my lecturer in the window outside talking to two girls whereas he was supposed gather the other students or even get his papers for the lesson. Ian came into this class to get some equipment and asked if I am good and I said no I am angry with the management. He said so is he. Well my classmates made it 1h and 35 min late. At least they did.

No one knows where anyone is. And no one cares to make this place orginised well. This place is a waste of space and energy, the teachers are willing to do well but they are not let to. The management gets payed a lot and they think they are kings. It makes life hard for students. They look no where close to:

Students do not care at all. Most of them have no mind, no mind that they want to train. It makes me sad, my poem foreign is one of the ones written right here. People here are not my people at all. This place needs improvement. Not once there was issues,

Even the boards on the corridor have spelling errors such as algegbra..

The quotes are great here written big on the walls, but to bad that no one gets inspired. One by beloved Steven Hawking, in great memory.

If we sit and overthink we won't achieve anything.

It looks all great. Has potential, it is scheduled to be better to oartner with british airways and bae systems. Well I will not be here, things seem to imptove when I leave. My Secondary school was badly managed too teachers kept leaving, i was bullied there. When I left head teacher changed to a very positive lady and motivating, I said to her how much she inspired me she was happy to hear it. I believe it is the city I am in - really bad. I just don't think this is acceptable
