A society is built on expectations of its citizens.

A society is built in strands. It is not often, that a revolution transforms a country. Change, is often incremental. Baby steps.

A society is built on expectations of its citizens. What we collectively sanction, is what we get. If we say it is okay to have dullards as leaders, we have no right to expect brilliant leadership.

If it is okay for body language to be celebrated as an achievement, we will get that. If celebrating bus stops or motor park as an achievement, that’s what we get.

This generation is lost. We must focus on our kids and build in their consciousness, a knowledge of their rights. Tell them what service, is.

But can you tell another, what you do not know yourself? When the discourse is on lies, fabrications and half truths? When we spend time on what does not benefit us really.

We have parked the issue of the Offa killings. No discussions on why only Lagos has helicopters, purchased by the state. When the former leaders from the states have jets.

Why the IG, will not visit a scene of such magnitude. Or constitute a panel to review lapses that led to such wanton killings.

Why act when we can pray for security or use juju. A society ever looking upwards, when it can do that and look inwards as well.

We are collectively under a spell.

I agree with your statement that we, as a society, are under a spell. I really liked how you said that we must build in the kids' consciousness. Children are the future of this world, whether you like it or not. It is just how things are. Sadly, these children are currently being put through corrupt educational systems, which dumb them down and condemn them, making them slaves to the system, which belittles their individualism, and brainwashing them, filling their minds with pointless information, lies, and manipulated, fake news.

The key to all of this, I believe, is taking it upon ourselves as individuals to learn, educate ourselves, and to grow. Through these actions, we can change the way things are and can put an end to this 'lost generation' as you rightfully called it.

Thank you for sharing this post. Keep up the great work!
