Episode 1 

Hi guys, my name is Joseph. A young Nigerian and a University Professor. I have a story to tell and I would really like you to learn something from it. Life is about lessons and I want to use the story of my life to send messages. 

This is my story 

The majority of African University graduates dream of becoming Lecturers. We all know about the bright future of the teachers, the respect they controlled and the wealth that followed them. 

Being a teacher gives you the opportunity to get to the top if you are serious. 

As a Lecturer, you have a clear path to become a Professor and now you have to work to make this happen. I had the opportunity to travel to Canada to obtain my Master's degree, immediately after my NYSC in 2006. I returned to Nigeria two years later and quickly married the daughter of a family friend whose father was also Dean of Education at the University. Who hired me two months after my wedding. I had my life well planned. I already knew what to do and what not to do to achieve my goals. 

My parents were equally supportive and moderately rich. They supported me in everything. 

Being the last child of the family of two girls, my parents and siblings took great care of me, even after my marriage with Lucy, who was also a nurse at the State's General Hospital. 

Soon I started working as a teacher with a strong spirit to correct all the errors in the University System. I swear I will stand firm in my dealings with the students. I vowed never to compromise my dignity and be a good man respected by all, but unfortunately, it was easier said than done. Being a lecturer opened my eyes to the realities on the floor. Politics and corruption were already well integrated into the university system, either you join the show or look the other way. I was young and ambitious. The options before me were simply unimaginable. 

Hmm, at first, I was forced to look the other way and face the work of my class, which I did with great zeal. I drove COM 101, 102, 201, 202, 301, 354 and 402. It really was not easy for me and, to make matters worse, some of the teachers with whom I shared the courses, left me alone to handle it alone and the number of students who offered the courses was quite enormous. 

But that was not even the biggest problem. As soon as the first exam to participate arrived when a speaker arrived, more temptations arose. 

The first temptation was that of the Senior Student known as Comfort. She was the first to tempt me.
