We all have an obsessive need to progress. And that is why the personal development industry is rife with both deceit and helpful tips.
The judgement is not in what is helpful or not, it is in whether we can use whatever we learn as a stepping stone to our growth.

There is no such thing as a useless experience!

How self evolution creeps up on you unknowingly

I was exposed to the possible energetic realm of our thoughts by the `the secret'. But due t its limited explanation of what the secret really was, I grew impatient enough to start my own research.
Having had a scientific background, I went to Einstein's work in quantum physics where energy was explained to my rational mind in a more comprehensive way. It became an obsession of mine for years to try and transpire this work into a consciousness theory for the rational mind.

But those on the consciousness path all know that it doesn't work this way. I thought I was doing this for others to understand consciousness in a rational way. But what I was actually doing was breaking my own rational thinking patterns. To transcend the ego and its need to control what it thought it knew. In otherwise I was doing it for myself.

Perfect Timing

I slowly started reading materials that explained consciousness in a scientific way, for example the first book of 'Conversations with God' by Neale D Walsch. I was glued to how the energetic fields were related to our thoughts. Again this book came to me in a time and space that I was ready to decipher the information.

But I was still working with the mind, everything was generated at the level of rationality. No heart; I was terrified of meeting my true self in that mirror of emotions. But there is a time for everything, that is why I always encourage people to honour where they are in their growth.

Never force someone or yourself to face what you are not ready for, there are energies at play that guide and support us. Honour how you feel, for example I have a catholic cousin who drives me crazy with her beliefs. I used to get very frustrated with her but now I have reached a point in my growth where I understand that she has to live enough of her beliefs in order to transcend them. That sounds like another article title.

I was the sort of person that had locked the gate to my emotions with a padlock that could never be broken. But take hid when I say that when the timing comes, nothing can stand in a way. I started attending retreats 3 years ago. These were in a format of an informal gathering; relaxed to a point everyone could be themselves. I was always the mother that held the tissue box for everyone as my own river had dried up, so I thought.

Suddenly, through a process of overwhelming compassion for what is; I couldn't stop crying. I am engulfed by a sense of longing and seeking in a depth of gratitude and love. This feeling is so beautiful and yet challenging. It is about progression to a higher form of love through love of self.

So with that I urge you to openly honour where you are. Remember nothing blossoms at the same time - that will not be evolution. Just like the changing seasons, the timing is always perfect.

In love and gratitude, thank you for reading.
