The Power of a Kind Word

✨ Story

One cold evening, a poor boy was selling newspapers door to door. He was shivering in the chilly wind and felt very hungry. Finally, he stopped at one house and softly knocked on the door.

A kind woman opened it. The boy asked shyly,
“Ma’am, could you please give me a glass of water?”

The woman looked at him and felt pity. Instead of water, she brought him a warm glass of milk.

The boy drank it slowly and asked,
“How much do I owe you?”

The woman smiled and said,
“You don’t owe me anything. Kindness cannot be bought.”

Years later, that same woman became very ill and had to go to a big hospital. A famous doctor came to treat her. When he saw her name, he remembered the little act of kindness from his childhood.

After months of treatment, the woman finally got well. When the hospital bill came, she was very worried. But on the top of the bill was written:

“Paid in full, with a glass of milk.”
