My story or How I started to learn things

Who am I?

I’m Gelanuma or Tristan, a 16 year old student from Germany.

Want to hear my story? So let's begin.

Just to tell you beforehand: This story will be pretty philosophical and I will tell a lot about my personal feelings and thoughts. The following posts on my blog will be more about software and technology, the reason why I created this blog.

I'm a typical teenager as you would expect from this age. And yet I am looking forward to my future, thinking about what I want to do tomorrow. This is great for me because I discover new things I might like, then start to learn more about it and can't stop until I know everything I could find. That's exactly how I discovered technology for me years ago. When I was younger, computers were some mysterious thing for me, somehow doing what I told him to do. Or at least most of the time. I was also really envious of my brother being able to install programs on his own while I could only open the browser playing flash games. I was so desperate figuring out how I could install programs I actually tried it so long to install a program that I eventually did it! I felt so happy and started installing many programs I didn't even knew what they did. Even if that was not the greatest idea, the way of how I figured out was one of the best I could ever find. Now going back to the present, I know a lot more about programs, computers and technology in general. Even if I am not a computer expert and don't know many fixes by heart I still learnt a lot and that is much worth! Now let's come back to the 'discover new things' part. Recently I discovered the art of photography: While waiting for a train in the morning I was viewing the landscape around me and watched it changing. Cars in the far driving, the wind gently blowing over the fields or just the sun slowly rising. I wanted to make a snapshot of that landscape I have just seen but I came across one problem: I didn't know how to capture the landscape accurately. My smartphone is the LG G6 with a pretty good camera and I took photos with it before. They come out decent, but the software of LG is not the best and the photos are either underexposed or have the wrong white balance. But I knew that the camera has a "manual mode" for adjusting the settings and I tried it out before, not knowing what ISO, white balance, exposure value or shutter speed was. And by now I still don't understand everything exactly, only knowing the basics. But i started looking online, changing the values and watching the results. The first images were bad, of course, but I quick learned what to do to create which effect. This was 2 days ago and therefore I'm still figuring out what setting does exactly. My goal is not to be an expert in the end, I was just curious about photography. I dn't know what will follow but I'm looking forward to more, maybe even with your help. Therefore some of my next thumbnails will be a photo I've taken with my smartphone to give you an impression of what I am currently capable of.

What do I want to tell you with that?

Well, my message to you is, that there is always a chance to learn something new and that you shouldn't give up learning something if you like or even love it. Giving up something you actually would love to do, maybe even professionally, is really sad, so I want to motivate you to continue or start doing that. I know that almost every community member of Steemit is older than me but I still think that this applies to everyone.

Now finally, I want to thank everyone who completely read my story even though it is packed with my own, maybe even bizarre thoughts. My next posts will consist of talking about technology and software. Hope you will enjoy it!
