THE POWER OF NUMBERS

1,2,3...4 5 catching fishes day and night. .why did you let them go because they hurt my finger so...

Well I am not too sure I got the rhyme correctly...it's been a long time- Nursery school.

Numbers! I have a business I run. Last year, I decided to have a corporate account. I wanted to be able to really track my financial growth. I wanted to know in details how much has gone through my hands business wise. This little action or step has revealed so much..

So I went online and printed my annual statement.. Oh dear! I feel like a CEO . No sooner my accountants will be doing all this stuff and I will be paying them large... (LOL)

Anyway before I get lost in my dreams, I printed the statement of account and to my suprise I had 15pages...well as a start -up business this is not bad at all for an eight month period.

I feel really excited, did I do this much...YES I DID..The books dont lie...do they?

These numbers do not lie.

And so I sat with it..

I REALIZED THAT MY TURN OVER HAS GREATLY INCREASED.

I started at zero funds..no one loaned me money..I started with what I had- my mouth.

And today my corporate account reveals i run 1,2,3,4,5,6 digits. Though my beginning be small, my later end will greatly increase.

I also took note of all the charges, vats and all that I pay. Its not inconsequencial. I realised that to be in business and successful at it, inflows and outflows are a great deal. 0.2, 0.3, these numbers look pretty small....but annually when sumed up..My God! It aint small afterall.

This number details would further help my decision making in the coming year and in business growth generally...

Numbers...0.1,0.2..they all matter and I see clearly the importance..I couldnt have captured all this details on my own.

I beckon to many start- ups businesses to make this a goal..Yes! The demands may be alot before opening, banks would ask for a deal of documentation but it sure pays off on the long run..
