Storj aims to build a decentralised cloud storage network on the Ethereum blockchain using Storj DCS (Decentralised Cloud Storage), which works on end-to-end encryption (a sent file is encrypted in the application, then travels encrypted through the internet and is decrypted only at its end, representing the recipient).
Storj DCS is the world's first open-source decentralized cloud storage.
Storj DCS automatically encrypts all these files before uploading them, so that only you and those you want to share your files with can access them. Storj can't see your files.
Your files are then split into several smaller chunks (one file is split into 80 or more chunks, and each chunk is stored among thousands of different nodes and ISPs in nearly 100 countries) to make your files more secure and enable more reliable performance.
STORJ tokens are ERC-20 (Ethereum blockchain) tokens that can be used to pay for Storj DCS services.
With a market capitalization of $558,889,793, the STORJ token ranks 122nd.
