RE: Canine parvoviral enteritis- what you should know about it.
Though Nigerian local breed does not come down easily with parvo. But they are also susceptible.
Hello, just out of curiosity, do the species of the local Nigerian dog breed not have a name?
How can you be very sure the disease your friend's dog is down with is parvovirus by seeing the condition, isn't there other diseases with similar symptoms?
Thanks for commenting on my blog am glad. Firstly, Nigerian local breed is commonly called mongrel which was the name given to it by the british years back. But mongrel is not a cool name as it means insult. So we prefer to call it Nigerian local breed dog.
Secondly, there is something called pathognomonic signs in medicine which means that once you see those signs, it obviously that it the particular disease. Parvo viral enteritis usually have pathognomonic sign of very foul smelling diarrhoea. It very obvious. So i don't need to go too far to make diagnosis. @greenrun
