in #steemvideo2 days ago (edited)

Hello everyone!

I hope you all are doing well and enjoying your life with Peace and positivity.
Recently I faced very confusing problem related to video submissions on Steemit especially for contests that require video to be post via “Speak on Steem”. I thought of sharing my complete experience from confusion to the final solution so no one else struggles the way I did

The Problem I Faced

It all started when I saw the rule for SLC-S25 (Steemit Learners Contest - Season 25). In the rules it was clearly written that if we post video via “Speak on Steem” we will get +1.5 points which is big deal for contest participants.

I got excite and decided to make video and post it in the correct way. But here where the trouble began.

My Google Search Failed

I searched on Google:
“How to post video via Speak on Steem”
“Speak on Steem video submission”
“Steemit video platform”

Unfortunately I get completely unrelated results I land on some old Steemit links YouTube tutorials and even some random blog post but none of them help me find the exact platform Where I was suppose to publish the Video.

I Asked for Help. But Got None

I asked many of my Steemit friends for guidance. Sadly

  • Some of them didn’t respond at all.
  • Some gave wrong or confusing answers.
  • And a few said they were also Unsure.

That was very disappointing. I almost gave up.

Week 1 Mistake I Posted on YouTube

Since I could not find the right way I finally post my video directly on YouTube and added it to my contest post.

But when the mentor gave feedback it clearly said that posting on YouTube only was not enough I need to post my video using the official Speak on Steem platform to earn the extra point.

That when I realize I had made mistake.

The Breakthrough I Found the Solution

After a lot of Searching I finally find this very helpful post by @alejos7ven

Post link

From that post I discovered the actual website name is not what I thought.

It is
https://speem.watch
Not “Speak on Steem” as written in the contest that was a misunderstanding.
