TECH THINGS
Hey friends,
This is keval back with new and interesting stuff of technology.
Today I have come up with some new and interesting technological talk that, What is incognito mode and how it works? So let’s see it in detail.....
The following block will answer following question of incognito mode….
1)what is normal browsing?
- Why incognito mode over normal browsing?
3)Why we need incognito mode..
4)What is incognito mode?
5)What is actual purpose of incognito mode?
6)What is better substitution for incognito mode?
The incognito mode is Google’s privacy mode but as there are many such private browsing mode of different companies available into market like Microsoft, safari, Mozilla , etc. any other search engines private browsing, all of those do the same things that Google does in incognito mode, so let’s understand it and it will be same as that of others.
What is normal browsing?
The browsing on internet is not only that you type something and you get different results out of it, there is something else that happens behind the scene that your browser does it downloads files related to it and stores in cookies, shows the results in your pc, uses your cookies when search a content on it, keeps tracking you all the time and stores history, etc stuffs happen in it something for our benefits and something for companies benefits.
This is how internet works.......
Why incognito over normal browsing?
OR
What does normal incognito mode do?
Now this is what happens in normal browsing mode but in incognito mode things are bit different where privacy is there but only to certain extent.
The incognito mode came into existence in 2008 and it was consider a good move by the company to keep your browsing history private.
The thought process of the incognito mode was that suppose a guy wants to buy a wedding ring for his fiancée and both of them are using same pc and he wants to propose her soon and give her surprise for the same, so when he enters the incognito mode he then logins into some jewelry website and then buys the rings, so this all browsing habits of his won’t be visible to her fiancée as there are no browsing history of it, no cookies related to it and thus will be private to certain extent.
Thus incognito mode doesn't store any history, cookies, search traces for your browsing habits physically on to the computer you use and thus makes things private to the people using same device.
In incognito mode your local privacy to certain extent can be said to be 100% but when it comes to online privacy it is still at stake anyone can still track it.
Initially there is something to understand then we will come to it again
see, every device on internet has its ip address associated to it and every request you send on a server through your computer has linked ip address to it. So even when you search something say nsfw content on internet through incognito mode then anybody who can trace your ip address can easily see that which sites you visit, what time you were there , for how much time you were there and so on things. Thus being on a incognito only hides your history or search content to local pc you are at but online privacy is still at a stake, also to add there is something called https and http, https stands for hypertext transfer protocol secure and http stands for hypertext transfer protocol now the https websites are secure that is the data you send them and data you retrieve back all that is encrypted that nobody in the middle can see, but http based websites do not send their data in encrypted fashion thus makes it easy to trace for them ,that what are you searching on it even if you are on incognito mode and thus privacy is at stake again. Although mostly all websites are https based but still http based website can get your data and can steal your data and privacy. Now also to add that your isp can check what are you searching for to see that what are your browsing habits, what do you browse for their benefits as they can have access to your ip address and it has nothing to do with incognito mode and that’s just local to your pc, another thing is that when you are at public Wi-Fi there too if you think that going to incognito mode will keep you private from others, that’s not the case as authorities higher than you can easily see what you are doing, thus privacy is again gone. To add something more like suppose you have committed something crime or the thing something that you are not supposed to do somebody, let it be some guy or some organization in incognito mode and you think you are safe as there are no proof of that work on your pc then you are under a wrong impression because suppose police inquiry comes then cops will not sit and see on your pc and try to retrieve out things from pc as they will just see that at what time crime happened and at that to what server your ip address was and what were you doing and if it was committing something malicious to the victims pc at a sme time then culprit for the stuff and thus you are caught and all the incognito mode stuff is in vain......
hence it is just useless thing to think that when you are incognito mode you are hidden from outside world and thus can do anything on the internet and nobody will understand what you are doing.....
What is the actual purpose of incognito mode/merits of it?
Now what exactly you can do incognito mode, see it was basically design to keep things private to your loved ones who use same pc also at times some website uses your cookies to show you adds accordingly and thus disturb you, so here incognito mode can help you. Another place it works good while booking tickets online some websites uses your history and cookies and traces you for their benefits in some way so IA mode can work best here, also it is difficult to trace somebody here. In IA mode people can login to different account/another account and thus have multiple logins into pc in IA mode...
This are few place you need or you can use IA mode....
what is better substitution to incognito mode?
Now people who thought IA mode is something where you can hide from entire world and do browsing for them alternatives will be like they can use a suitable VPN that will make things difficult for authorities to track your things, your browsing history and stuffs like that ,also this too has certain limitation that I will discuss in my future blogs.
Also there something called TOR browser which also make difficult to track things for authorities but I strictly recommend you to not to use it as it is used for something else.
Okay I hope that the blog changed your thought on privacy on web and I hope you like it and that’s all form my side. The blog is bit bigger but I hope u enjoyed. If you liked pls upvote it resteemit, for any doubts or suggestion write in comment section….
