A LITTLE ON THE MICROPROCESSORS

in #steemstem7 years ago

Hello friends, today I want to talk a little about what the microprocessor is, since it is a very interesting topic and I would like to share it with you.

It is called a microprocessor to the part of a CPU that is classified as an electronic component composed of hundreds of thousands of transistors integrated in a silicon plate. It is the key element in the formation of a computer. Although commonly confused, the microprocessor is not the same as the

the microprocessors are classified according to their different factors. These factors are designed to examine the speed of the processor and the amount of information it can transfer. The speed capabilities of microprocessors are measured in gigahertz or megahertz, while the amount of information they can transfer is measured in kilobytes or megabytes. Its speed is classified according to the number of progression cycles per second it generates. These cycles are commonly classified in gigahertz, equivalent to 1 billion processing cycles per second, while 1 megahertz equals 1 million cycles per second.

Modern microprocessors contain data caches that are designed to store information that is transmitted to and from the processor. A larger cache allows faster access to frequently used data, which provides better processing speeds. Caches are designated as L1, L2 or L3 caches and generally vary between 64 kilobytes and 1 megabyte in size.

 Logical characteristics
Length of the word processed This is the number of bits processed in the same clock cycle. Capacity of access to the memory to the amount of memories that can handle speed.

of instructions and its speed of processes.

Repertoire of instructions at the level of machines that can be processed.

 Physical characteristics
The programming delay of the electrical signal represents the time it takes the signal to take one or the other value inside the circuit.
Ignition firing: this value indicates the heat generated by the processor when it remains in operation.
Output fan: is the amount of electrical signals.
Noise margins: indicates the electrical reliability that contains the information.

I agree with the comment of @mobbs. I think it would be very useful, for your readers, to add extra references where more information could be found. In addition, I am fully convinced that this will bring you more rewards ;)
