Question.....

Evening all......

While working in the shop all day today. I kept thinking about the fact that I haven’t done any real purchases of Precious Metals this year.

Ever year I write down a goal of we’re I’d like to be. Well It’s on my phone in my notepad so it’s easy access.

Well I’m not even 10% towards my goal this year. It’s very frustrating to me because I break my ass on a daily basis to make money. I haven’t had a vacation in 6 years. And I’ve only taken a handful of days off in the last two years.

My daughters tuition comes first, and my mortgage, then the rest of the bills. And they add up quickly. And now my daughter is having surgery on July 26th.

So now the question in my head is........

Do I have enough of a stack if it gets crazy?

Between the stupid shit constantly coming out of Trumps mouth. The tariffs, Iran, South Korea. Brexit, China’s economy issues. The world is a very unsteady place right now.

I’d like your honest opinion of your stack. While I don’t need the details of it, I’d like you to be unbiased and evaluate your stack?

Are you confident in your stack?

Are you just where you think you need to be?

Are you worried about your stack?

How close are you to your ultimate goal?

I’d like to hear from you....

My goal has always been to have my personal weight in silver. I am almost there.... but I seem to be struggling this year aa well. I think anyone who has goal of atleast 1500 oz will be very happy they did. You and I k ow that one day $15.30 an oz will have the greatest return in history. Wise man once said 500 oz of silver should be able to purchase you a home... my opinion brother is this..... KEEP STACKIN, and no that every year you may not reach your goal, but every year you stack at these prices is a blessing!!!!

Wow that’s a great goal. Priorities have to be made in life, my daughter will always come first.

I can get a house then......

I am with @dfinney. I think stacking is fun and I like the different designs but can't really imagine trading it for a sandwich or a gallon of water.

Personally, I think if things get really bad, bullets would be good currency.

I don't really think silver will be much for trading/buying. If the dollar is gone...what would people do with silver since most are not able to make things out of it.

I stack for enjoyment, if you’ve noticed what I show rarely if ever is it just a piece of silver. I’m a coin guy I love great looking old coins. There’s something about holding a beautiful example of a coin that’s over 100 years old.

I completely agree, old coins are much cooler and have by virtue of their age more value than a chunk of .999

I will melt bouillon but would never melt a coin (unless it was to make defense against werewolves).

You do have enough.

If shit gets really crazy you can only physically carry so much. And things like food and medicine would be way more valuable than stack.

So the question really is, do you have enough for a financial boost now if you can’t keep up with your debt? And I think the answer for you is yes.

As for me... stack is for fun. I am not counting on it for squat.

I actually don’t think I have enough yet. I’m close but not where my true goal is. If I was still buying atva decent rate I’d be there by the beginning of next year. Food and supplies I’m very good with.

Sorry you haven't been able to get as much as you'd like. I know the struggle. I think most of us are wondering if what we have is going to last us. Even people who don't stack wonder if what they've accumulated is going to continue to get them through.

Personally, I'm not where I'd like to be. I'm thrilled that I started the journey, but I still feel like I have a ways to go. That being said, anything is better than nothing because most people will have dollars which will be the same as nothing.

It happens. Just wish i could take advantage of the low spot price.
It all a guessing game, but if you hit the goal you set you should be fine.

i'm basically just stacking weight right now, having only started this stack last september. there are a few nice rounds & coins in there as well but it's mostly just boring stuff. i'm happy that i've been able to add as much as i have so far but there is no way i feel close to any target. i'm hoping to add another couple of pounds before the end of the year, again probably canadians (i like that extra nine). i'll most likely keep adding at this rate as long as the gold/silver ratio is above 90--ultimately all this silver will become gold and i'll look at starting over, watching that g/s ratio.

my steem silver rounds and certain coins/rounds will never be sold though. there probably isn't a ratio low enough to make me give them up.

Atleast you started brother. I have plenty of pieces I wouldn’t sell, but you never know what’s gonna happen.

Surgery for what, bestie? That is in a couple of weeks. I shall pray for a successful surgery.
The composition of my foundational stack (ASE, US Constitutional silver and fractional gold) is what it is because, on my second year of stacking, I finally discovered my personal answer to the question: Why am I stacking?
It is a worthwhile question that must be asked by a serious stacker of him/her-self.

She has had issues for years with her throat, no doctor ever wanted to do surgery. She has infected tonsils and adenoids which cause a lot of other issues. Finally found an ENT specialist that would fix the issue instead of giving antibiotics.

I will always be a collector at heart, but I have changed my philosophy on it. I’ve been buying for weight way more then I’ve been buying numismatics. But I’d rather have beautiful examples of coins.

Personally, I completed "my stack" almost 20 years ago when the world was coming to an end. Today, it is little by little, nothing special, I just try to buy at least $1.00 or $2.00 face value junk per week.
