The Silver Quarter Train - Constitutional Silver
Published: May 2, 2017 at www.honestvalueneverfails.com
In this blog article I will be talking about 90% constitutional silver and my love for silver quarters. I guess I lean toward silver quarters because I handle a lot of worthless quarters at work and I appreciate the true value behind a 1964 or prior quarter. They are the same size but one is real and biblical, the other is not. Its cool to think about the history behind each coin and where it has been. Lately my go to move when I visit my local coin shop has been silver quarters. It isn't all that is in my stack, nor is it all I buy currently. As of late it has been what works best for me as I stack within my means. Within the past few months I got a new car. Used but new to me anyway. Adding that new bill along with new insurance on top of my mortgage and every other bill in life, constitutional silver has been my most affordable option. Now regardless if you were to pick up silver dimes, quarters or half dollars you would be paying the same price for face value. Face value is exactly how it sounds, so if you have four quarters that is $1 face. Forty quarters or a full roll/tube would be $10 face, but don't go selling that $10 face of silver quarters for $10. Depending on where you buy them from, you will generally pay between $3.50-$4.50 per silver quarter at today's spot price. Being friends with the owner and family run staff at my local coin shop allows me to pick up 90% silver at an even better price for $13 for each $1 face value. Using CoinFlation.com's coin melt value calculator we can find that for every six silver quarters you have 1.0851 troy ounces of pure silver. Paying $3.25 per quarter is like buying silver under or as close to spot price as I will ever get. Generally when I go I may only spend $60-$70 when I can afford it, but instead of only getting a couple one ounce rounds I would be holding twenty silver quarters in my possession. Which leads me to another reason why I love all Constitutional Silver. I love how fractional each piece is. If you were to go order some fractional 1/10th or 1/5th ounce pieces of silver online you will pay a crazy premium regardless of how small it may be. You won't pay that premium for constitutional silver. That is precisely the reason why I love fractional 90% silver. Not only am I a stacker but I consider myself a prepper as well. I don't know what tomorrow may bring and none of us do. If s**t were to hit the fan tomorrow and the world plunged into a complete economic collapse and utter chaos, I would rather have more fractional silver than nothing but ten ounce bars and kilo's. Yes I have both of those as well but how would I ever make change for the small purchases I would need to make. For example if I needed to purchase bread from someone who was willing to sell to me, I would not hand them a ten ounce silvertowne bar. I would be getting ripped off to an astronomical extent. Now if I wanted to successfully make that trade, it would be wise to have fractional pieces so I could give him maybe one silver quarter or a couple dimes. Another reason I love constitutional silver is the fact that no more are being made. There aren't anymore silver war nickels, dimes, quarters or half dollars being minted, nor will you ever see a 2018 Silver Obama half dollar. I believe these coins will begin holding numismatic value down the road for that reason. Once they are all bought up, collectors will be wanting to get there hands on them, especially ones in decent condition. With less and less being readily out there to purchase the demand will slowly rise over time. Now it may take twenty years, maybe even fifty years but mark my words that somewhere down the line in the future I believe they will hold a collectors value to them. This entire article sums up my love for 90% constitutional silver and why I will never refer to any of these coins as "Junk" silver. I have yet to hear the phrase "Junk" gold so why would that phrase exist for silver. Gold is gold and silver is silver.

I actually like the term junk silver. It's treated at Coinflation value and there could be a semi-rare date or mint mark in the pile.
Great post...upvoted and following!
To each his own. I am not hating on the term I just stray away from it myself. What you said is true though :) also thank you so much for reading! I appreciate the support and feedback :D
@honestvalue, constitutional silver sounds so much better than junk silver! Like it.
Exactly my friend! Silver is silver and I love it all :)
love my junk silver! I don't take it literally or personally.
Me too :) yeah I don't necessarily take it personally or get offended by the term "junk silver" I just give it the respect it deserves with a proper title
