Hello Fellow Silver Stackers!!! AWESOME STORY, GOD IS REAL and good karma exists!!!
It has been a while since my last post on here or at www.honestvalueneverfails.com and for that I apologize. I have been working a lot as we all do. Between that, family get togethers this summer, birthdays, and starting to work out and lift weights again my days have been long. I have been neglecting my other hobby and passion and that is silver stacking/blogging with all of my fellow stackers within the community. I have a very intriguing and humbling story for you guys. My neighbor who is an elderly gentleman of maybe 75 years of age has lived alone since his wife passed. He is a very outgoing neighbor and would do anything he can when it comes to lending a hand to anybody in the neighborhood. He has always been there for my girlfriend and me without even asking. A few weeks back, he paid his landscapers to trim the hedges on my property as well as his own. I had been meaning to do it but again sometimes after work, we get sidetracked with other things in life. I remember pulling in my driveway and noticing the bushes looked amazing. Moving forward, one day I was mowing my front yard and he came out to talk to me. I asked if him about it because I wanted to reimburse him what he paid. He was so humble about it and didn't want me to repay him at all. I knew I had to do something special for him. That Friday when I got paid I went and got him a thank you card along with the money to pay him back. I also wanted to show him how much I appreciated his selflessness so I know it was small but I put one of my favorite coins( a 90% JFK half dollar) into a capsule and put it in the card as well. I wrote him a nice thank you message, along with sharing my love for our country, and JFK as my favorite president throughout US history. I stopped by his house that afternoon before heading into my closing shift, knocked on his door and handed him the card. He tried to tell me to keep the money but I told him I wanted to do this and wished him a good night. Worked late that night, and afterwards I had to go straight to bed to be up at 5 am to restart the work process. That day at work, my friends Katie and Amy called me into the office at the end of my shift. Over the walky talky I hear "Brandon We have some half dollars in here for you to look at". I immediately got excited. They handed me 5 half dollars and sure enough two of them were silver. Two 1967 JFK 40%'s. I have never found anything silver working in retail other than war nickels which I am thankful for! I just think it is so humbling that within 24 hours what I gave away in thanks to my neighbor, god gave it right back. God is amazing and he watches over us each and every day. Life is such a blessing and I am forever thankful for the life he has given me. Thank you for reading :)))
PS I also picked up a full tube of Franklin halves that weekend after work!
Nice, funny how a good turn often rewards you back more.
What a nice story and is Great to have neighbors so nice. rather than not so nice. The world would be a better place if we went back 50 years.
It has changed alot since i was a kid in the 70's and not for the better imo.
So is real nice to hear. I believe in karma more than religion whats goes around comes around
Yeah I agree. I always feel like I was born into the wrong generation but at the same time there are a lot of good people with Morales and empathy as well. We live in a very F*d up world but there is always positives that outweigh the negatives. Every day is a blessing. I believe in karma as well. Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to chat with me!
Very cool story, Kind of humbles a person in a way, when you try to get ahead and work hard, then just having faith and giving in kindness rewards you the most. Good for you, keep givin', and keep stackin'.
That is so true my friend, when you really look at it and read between the lines the true reward isn't something tangible you can hold. Keep stackin bud :)
