This is my entry to the short story contest

As soon as Sen. Henry scaled the fence, he broke a leg, though not severe, but hindered his ability to outrun the assassins. Within a short while the assassins caught up with him and just before he was able to reveal his identity, he was shot twice in the chest. The assassins soon fled the scene as they heard sirens from afar which depicted the approach of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The security official in charge of guarding Sen. Henry that night, who had managed to hide himself, had seen Sen. Henry scale the fence from his hiding place and since he was out-armed and out-numbered, he decided not to act but made a quick call to the head of SARS who deployed his boys to the scene but was too late, as Sen. Henry died before they arrived.

News of Sen. Henry’s death got to Prof. Otaguruagu, and in great dismay, he fled the city and no one knows his whereabouts till today. The assassins were later apprehended and Sen. Henry’s Chief thug arrested.
