Created by @samstonehill 16 months ago @steemshop aims to keep this 'anything goes' marketplace on Steemit, permitting us to spend our STEEM & SBD earnings without having to leave Steemit or give out our passwords.
In the last 3 months the much needed team has finally arrived, giving this project renewed energy and wider world coverage:

The Community
Discord is now our main server for all things @steemshop where you will find:

- #sellers-market (once verified you can list your products here)

With our growing number of dedicated language feeds international users will be able to read a clear explanation of our system, post-promote & engage with their language specific community.

The System
In order to keep this marketplace growing we have implemented a system of including the '4 simple steps' infogram with your product posts, using #steemshop as the first tag. In this way you will be eligible for an upvote & a resteem into @steemshop giving you that immediate wider audience you seek & a permanent product post listed in the marketplace.
The upvote & resteem service will remain FREE until the @steemshop account reaches 1000 followers. This may happen within the next month or two, so don't hang around creating those product posts!
Buyers contact sellers under their product posts and when the product is no longer available it is the seller's responsibility to indicate this in the comments.
Don't give out your personal address under the posts!
Switch to a more private method of communication when giving out this information.
The Guidelines
While you are free to advertise your products any way you like, by following our guidelines you will be more likely to connect with a buyer.
Make sure to include:
- PHOTOS (multiple angles if it is a physical product)
- DESCRIPTION (include as much info as possible)
- CONDITION (is there anything you want to tell us about the condition?)
- SHIPPING (what is your location & weight of product?)
- PRICE (to avoid fluctuations in STEEM/SBD list your price in USD)
Be as specific as you can with your product posts using the correct tags so that people will easily find what they are looking for using the steemit search engine. If you have many different types of product it will be easier for people to find them as individual posts, each one sticking to a particular theme.
It is the responsibility of the buyer and seller to make the appropriate arrangements and honour them.

Please note I am not actually selling this product, just using it as an example and potential template for you.
Balinese Ink Steem Stamp
Description
Hand made in 2017 this rubber stamp was used for the 1st Bali Steemit meet-up, to stamp everyone's hand at the entrance. It comes complete with stamp pad & spare ink.

Condition
It has been well used & there are scratches & ink stains on the wood, but it still works perfectly & the ink bottle is almost full.
Shipping
The total weight plus packaging is 100g and I am currently based in France. Standard national & international postal service rates apply.
Price
Due to the unique nature of this product, my asking price is $100 or nearest offer (to be paid in Steem or SBD equivalent value at time of transfer).
The Future
When @steemshop achieves over 1000 followers, we will introduce a fee of 0.1 SBD for the resteem service.
This will be increased by 0.1 SBD with every further 1000 followers, giving @steemshop greater voting power and the ability to give back to those who choose to advertise their products with us.
The Premium Service
Collectively the @steemshop team have over 10,000 followers and for a fee of 1 SBD you will be resteemed by all of us.
You will also gain entry into the weekly @steemshop 'magazine' which features selected products.

Write a review or promotional post for @steemshop
Create a product listing post using existing products in @steemshop
If you are looking for a product not listed in @steemshop you can write a post describing it and how much you are willing to pay.
If you have over 1000 followers and would like to be a part of the @steemshop resteem group (for the premium service) get in touch with us on Discord. Please note we will only consider accounts which are posted from regularly with quality content.

Not long after I joined Steemit I had the idea to buy a bunch of 'steemy' accounts: @steemshop @steemtv @steemholidays @steemtutorials and one by one I am finally now getting around to kick-starting the projects. Looking forward to seeing your sales post(s) in the shop!

Excellent synchronicity Sammo! People are already requesting example sales posts so this is brilliant. Resteemed and will do my own example too, just hunting around in our boxes to find stuff to sell lol! 👍
It's a fun game sifting through our stuff to see what we can sell. Most items of monetary value in my life were sold just prior to leaving London. Which is partly why the stamp was the best thing I could come up with!
Had another idea this morning, which is perhaps only relevant to film makers but I would love to make my huge collection of time-lapse shots available to everyone. And what better place than @steemshop to do it :)
cool, my only fear with buying and selling on steemit is putting my personal information and address out there
@funhobby51, I dont think you have to put all your details on the post you could just put a province/state and country and discuss the finer details in a private message with the interested party on the Discord Server.
that sounds like a better idea. Perhaps something like craigslist has were you can get a randomized email
You could always set up a PO box address or have it delivered to a neighbour if you were genuinely concerned about it. And as @claudiaz says, this info would be private between you and them.
At least here on Steemit you have the opportunity to 'check out' the seller's account prior to interacting with them.

Let's not forget, all that junk mail which comes through your door is a side-effect of handing out your address to 'trusted' companies whose intentions are probably far more deranged than the average steemit user.

I get very little junk mail, I used to be one of those guys who get people to enter a contest in order to get their information for marketing, thus I never hand mine out. It's not the average user who concerns me.
