Bunnahabhain is one of the lesser known scotch whisky distilleries to the masses. From the Islay region of Scotland, Bunnahabhain is one one of the few Islay distilleries that don't have an as intense peat flavour. Fellow distilleries are Ardbeg, Lagavulin to name a couple.

The 25 year old comes beautifully packaged. The bottle is smoked oak glass to hide any misconceptions of artificial colouration. The box is alderwood lined with hessian and comes with a scroll full of marketing information.

Nose: dried fruits, smoke, oak, sherry is very prevalent, toffee smell. For 46.3 abv, there really isn't much of an alcoholic presence.
Palate: smooth, fruity, malty, oak, light spice, light peat, very smooth very silky, nutty.
Finish: lightly peated, spices, light wood; oak, burnt sugar/caramel flavour.

The initial nose is quite unusual. Almost no hint of alcohol. Full flavours on the nosing. Sherry with dried berry fruits and nutmeg.

Taste is amazing!! The first sip was slightly spicy and oaky. After about a minute or 2 of letting it sit, wow full flavoured and smooth. As an Islay whisky, peatiness was minimal but was there in the finish.

..not much more I can really say but wow!!

As usual, I don't like to give number ratings for things. I believe it unconsciously gives us a school-like approach to something that should be enjoyed and savoured.

My final thought is that this whisky is

AMAZING!

The taste is really unique. Definitely an underrated distillery and an underrated dram in the quarter century bracket. It is a bit pricey, but for the age and quality, you almost feel like it's a bargain!

I'll be uploading a couple more while my siblings are here. Later in the week I'll throw up the cigar reviews.

Signing off steemers!

I actually like a second opinion from some outside party before I drop 400 bucks on a bottle of scotch. You're doing a service for me.

Thank you :) i always find people who do video reviews tend to have a certain bias toward brands or regions. I try to remain impartial and try to highlight pros and cons. You gave me an idea; I'll start listing my best seen prices :)
