RE: Disconnect in a Connected World

Dear @shadowspub

Excellent choice of topic. Great read.

The disconnect between the reality of what the jet was and what the Secretary of Defence wanted it to be was stunning

Indeed. This is such a great example we shold all consider and think about.

I’m looking south of the border to a government partially shut down, thousands out of work and ever increasing damage to the operation of the country and the economy over a President demanding a wall that no agency has ever recommended.

I presume that you're not very supportive to idea of building this wall?

Not at all supportive but it's not my country to make a decision in.

That said, the disconnect is the fact Trump has promoted the concept of a wall to a certain part of his support base. The notion is not backed up by those who work in those fields as something which will benefit the country's security. He now has the government in partial shutdown demanding funding because there is clearly not the political will for the project due to the lack of operational support.

He needs to learn that governing a country is not running your own corporation where your own agenda trumps (no pun intended) that of the rest of the government. In the meantime, thousands are either out of work or working without pay while he throws his childish temper tantrum.

Appreciate your mature and reasonable comment @shadowspub

Very wise words. It's clear power struggle and I understand that he cannot back down. If he would then he would lose his support base. And with his amount of powerful enemies it would be very difficult not to be crushed if that happens.

I wont get into topic much deaper as it's to close to sensitive politics :)
