Gambling in Las Vegas for Locals

Gambling in Las Vegas can be fun, but sometimes you don't want to go to the Strip where the crowds and tourists are. Find out where the locals go.

Neon lights, loud music, amusing costumed entertainers and tourists...this is Las Vegas on the Strip. If you've been to Las Vegas before, no doubt you've had your fill of the Elvis impersonators, Cher in concert, the escort fliers, and the crowds.

Why do you continue visiting Vegas? You enjoy legalized gambling, of course! What you don't enjoy are the tourists, the smoke, and the side show acts.

So what do you do in Vegas? Get off the Strip, and do Vegas like the locals do.

Station Casinos - The Way the Locals Party in Vegas

Casinos are all over the Strip, naturally, but there are casinos all along the edges of Las Vegas. The most prominent of these casinos are the Station Casinos which mostly cater to the locals of Sin City. It is a well-known fact that Vegas locals don't venture out to the Strip for entertainment, gambling, or nightlife most of the time. Usually, they hop in their cars and drive to the nearest Station Casino.

Each of the Station Casinos has everything you'd want from a casino on the strip: a hotel room, slot machines, poker tables, night clubs, bars, dining, movie theaters, and live shows. They even have Kid Zone drop off centers where your kids will be watched and allowed to play while you enjoy your adult activities in peace.

What Station Casinos don't have is the tacky part of Las Vegas many have grown weary of. There's more to Las Vegas than celebrity impersonators, drive thru wedding chapels, and drunken co-eds urinating in fountains; if you have children, Station Casinos are a much more wholesome, family environment. In addition to the Kid Zone, you won't find any illegal immigrants trying to hand your 15-year-old son a flier with a half naked escort on it.

The moment you step into a Station Casino, you experience the difference when compared to a casino on the Strip. There is no crowd to squeeze through; there is little to no wait for a table when dining; and the atmosphere itself is much calmer and quieter. While smoking is permitted at the Station Casinos, the smoke level isn't as noticeable, and there are non-smoking slot machine sections for those who prefer to avoid the smoke altogether.

So if you want to "Do Vegas", but you want to avoid all the trash and tackiness associated with it, try venturing out to the Station Casinos located all over Las Vegas. Get away from the Strip and enjoy a more sophisticated visit to Sin City.
