Second Week of Duty – Tuesday and Wednesday

Yesterday I decided to board in my aunt rented room because it is more convenient living there than travelling back and forth from our home (because travelling back and forth from pur home can consist 80-160 pesos and 1-2 hours travel). So I became late, entering the agency I saw some of children gathering around one of my classmates. While waiting for the another intern we decided to help those child who goes to school with their assignment and after that make a small discussion about the kinds of sentences. When the last intern arrives, we decided to continue our plan program in that day which is discussing about solar system. We gave a coloring activities to the children. In the coloring activities, the child must colored the planet based on their desired colors. After that we cut the pices or planets, then paste it on the board where there is an empty drawings of solar system. Each child was duvided into two group and they must paste the planets according to their proper sequence. After that we check their arrangement of planet, then tell about some facts and correct colors of each planet. We also discuss the affiliated god and goddesses in each planet. Then we proceed with those affiliated gods and goddesses. We show some short clips abput god and goddeses.

In the afternoon, yesterday, we let them watch a movie related with the god and goddeses that we discuss. We let them watch Percy Jackson and Hwayugi. We let them watch Hwayugi as a reward for behaving themselves for the whole day. After that we leave some assignments related to the movie and the kdrama. That assignment will be written in their journal because it will serve as an remark or output for our workplan and case study.

Today, I became to early (perks of living in my aunt's rented rooms and having a cousin who wakes up too early). While waiting the other interns I decided to have some conversation with the child I did not met before (because they had classes outside, their are Elementary students who had monday-friday class). I became too surprised with some facts they are telling about their families. After a few minutes of talking the two intern which is my classmates came. I ask the assigned leader of our group about the activities that we will make, after knowing that we will discuss about multiplication. She command me to prepare the things that we need. I printed an empty multiplication table. Then we gave each child and ask them to answer it by themselves if they can and if not we will help that specific child in filling the missing answer of each number. After completing the myltuplication table we gave them free time to do their chores. So I grab the chance to have some conversation with some of the children. We talk about their past relationship and families. After that long free time, we decided to play some games related with multiplication table. Then after being bored with the game and being runs out of prizes, we decided to play some random games that the kids suggested. And we can't help laughing to each other when we find something funny.

I must say that being assigned in a place full of children, you must readt yourself and prepared so much activities in order to gain their trust or heart or know them.
