Scattered Beauty
One of the best way to beat the summer fever is to plunge in the cold water of the beach or drink an ice cold lemonade while seating in a bench under the roof of a resort fronting a beautiful scenic view of the ocean. So relaxing, isn't it? And one of the best beaches here in the Philippines that have both of this feature is the Hundred Island in Alaminos Pangasinan. It offers us many ways how to enjoy our summer vacation and beat the summer.
I'm so amazed how some islet looks like. Some looks like a muffin which makes me hungry whenever I see them. Some looks like a giant mushroom and some looks like a giant umbrella. Funny isn't it? I don't know if others see the same or its just me. 😂
According to wikipedia, Hundred Islands is the first national park and a protected area in Alaminos, Pangasinan. There is 124 Islands when low tide and 123 when high tide. But onle few Islands have been developed for tourism.
We went to this beautiful Islands last March 10 of this current year. Its serves as a family reunion and also a 'welcome home' celebration for my brother who is working in Qatar. We stay there for two days, for us to enjoy the Island hopping and family bonding at the same time. We stay in a trancient house not too far from the boating dock. Luckily they also offering cheap Island hopping packages, so we dont have problems.
We started the Island hopping early at the morning after eating breakfast and unloading our things to the trancient. The wheather was fine that time. Although the place is slightly crowded we managed to take a perfect family picture at the entrance.
Our first destination is the Governor's Island. It has so much things to offer. We have to climb (I think a hundreds steps) to reach the top of a hill. Every sweat is worth it when we see the amazing view at the top. Later on, I found out that this was once the shooting venue for the previous Pinoy Big Brother, during the time of Gerald Anderson and the sole winner Kim Chiu!
We even try to walk in a bridge connetcting to another Island. It is made of a plastic container so its moving along the waves. But we made it though. 😵😵😵
We also visited the Marcos Island, where we finally dip in the cold water of the beach. It is good spot for snorkling and cliff diving. Even though you dont have snorkling gear, you can still see the bottom because the water was so clear. We also spotted some fish swimming with us although we are in the shallow part of the beach.
After an hour of relaxing swimming, we went to the next Island, (sorry I forgot the name) where we eat our lunch. We just order some foods to eat. And because we're on an Island, we already expect that the price of foods is much higher than the original price. So its advisable to bring your own food if your want to save some money. Anyway, never mind the price because the food really taste fantastic.
Even though theres more Islands to be visit, we decided to go back to the trancient house so the kids can take rest and where also tired already. But we enjoy every second stay in each Islands. Good thing on our way back, the 'bangkero' showed and explained us every Island we missed. Including children Island and the Pilgrimage Island.
Thats it guys! I hope you enjoy reading my experience in exploring the scattered beauty of Hundred Islads. Hopefully I can blog my other travel experience soon. Thanks for your time! 😜😜😜
