Bilgi ve iletişim teknolojileri yardımı ve internet/Intranet gibi yerel ve geniş alan ağları aracılığı ile zaman ve mekandan bağımsız olarak bilgiye erişimi ve çoklu ortam uygulamaları ile etkileşim sağlanarak,öğretim etkinliklerinin elektronik ortamlarında yürütülmesi "e-öğrenme" olarak tanımlanabilir.
