RE: We Can't Have Anything Nice: A Warning to My Fellow Steemitzombies Users
I don’t think it’s a big deal. Everyone seems to have different ideas about what constitutes a violation. They try to speak with some kind of authority and some users with SP will actually be able to force this kind of authority upon us, but if there are enough of us and we have other SP to back us up, there isn’t anything they can do and I don’t really think we are rubbing too many whales the wrong way, the one sided you need to worry about don’t usually care much what we do as long as it doesn’t impede on their ability to profit and #nobidbot does that a lot more than #steemitzombies and we haven’t seen any downvotes of that tag except for the transparencybot posts which is even more threatening to them than #nobidbot as a whole. I think we are good.
@cheetah is an ally. It won’t flag you for anything if your user name or a link to the material is in your post. The only reason you need to worry about cheetah is if you don’t site your own work somehow. When I’m reposting from Patreon I make a point to edit the Patreon post and link to my Steem profile. This seems to be a double safety to just linking the original article.
As for who owns what, I don’t believe there is any contract that says steemit has the right to our material so I don’t see how anyone can argue that they own what we post.
Cool. Thank you. I suppose I overacted a bit but hey I put some work into this stuff so I am protective of how my content is seen.
I assumed that we own our posts because that is how it works on most sites of this nature. If one posts on YouTube he or she owns the video but I didn't want to speak with authority about that, especially to @keniza. That guy seems to work hard on his stuff so I wouldn't want to steer him wrong.
The nobidbot thing seems great I really want to start using it but I know my follower growth will take a hit if I stop using resteem services so I have been dragging my feet on that (I would save ton of SBD though). It is good to hear that no one is too upset about it which makes me more willing step into the tag.
Haha is that transparencybot thing related? I have been seeing that around and I love it. It isn't that I am super salty about bots (I don't like them either) but I do think it is good to know how much a post is really worth without them.
