Advanced Routes for Power Down

Dear Steem Community,

I am excited to introduce a powerful new feature for the Steem wallet: Advanced Power Down Routes. This functionality empowers users to automate and customize the distribution of their STEEM during the power-down process with precision and ease.

What Are Advanced Power Down Routes?

Advanced Power Down Routes allow you to predefine one or more accounts to automatically receive a specified percentage of your STEEM as you power down. This feature is ideal for automating payments, supporting projects, or managing funds efficiently. While this capability has always been part of the Steem blockchain, it was previously inaccessible through the Steemit wallet interface.

To address this, I submitted a pull request (#262) to integrate Advanced Power Down Routes into the wallet UI. Thanks to the swift efforts of @ety001, this feature is now live on the Steemit development wallet at wallet.steemitdev.com and ready for community testing.

How to Use Advanced Power Down Routes

Follow these steps to set up and manage your routes using the development wallet:

1. Access the Development Wallet
   Log in to wallet.steemitdev.com using Keychain or your private key.

2. Navigate to Advanced Routes
   From the Power Down menu, select the new "Advanced" option to access the route configuration interface.
   

3. Configure a New Route
   In the Advanced Routes form, specify the recipient’s account name, the percentage of the power-down allocation, and whether the funds should automatically vest (power up) in the recipient’s account.
   
   

4. Apply Your Routes
   Once configured, all future power-downs will automatically follow your defined routes.

5. Manage Existing Routes
   Return to the Advanced Routes menu to view or delete active routes. Remove any route by clicking the cross icon next to the entry.
