India is also among the few nations where the forest cover is consistently increasing. There has also been an increase in the number of community reserves. From 43, the number has gone up to more than 100 in 2019.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's wildlife conservation efforts are bearing fruit with the coverage of protected areas increasing from 4.90 per cent to 5.03 per cent since 2014.
