THOSE WHO WILL NEVER BE RICH

A FRIEND OF MINE, TOCHUKWU NKWOCHA, POSTED THE FOLLOWING LINES AND I CONSIDER IT CRUCIAL ENOUGH TO REPRODUCE IT HERE FOR THE CONSUMPTION OF STEEMIANS :

If you find it difficult to name a fee for rendering a service; if you often say: just give me what you feel is right, then you are one of those who deeply feel that money is immoral. The sad consequence of this deep seated mindset or worldview or disposition is that you will never be rich.

If you cannot genuinely thank a waiter for waiting on you in a restaurant, and all you say is, 'its his job; is he not paid for it?'; or a street sweeper for diligently keeping your street clean, then you will never be rich.

Your mindset about money is flawed and money will avoid you like a plague. That someone is paid for doing something does not make the act itself less noble. A neurosurgeon who does a great work deserves his pay and also your profound gratitude when he does a great job of surgery because you could spend all that money and not be cured.

All who accumulate money by enterprise do so because of SERVICE and service is at the center of the gospel. The Lord Jesus said: whoever will be the greatest among you must be the servant of all. If you want to enjoy abundance, then you must find a way to effectively serve 100,000 or 1,000,000 or 1,000,000,000 persons.

You want to know why Jesus has been given a name that is above every name, that at his name every knee bows? It is because by His death, burial and resurrection, He served humanity, past, present and future.

Now, your focus should not be to be rich. Your focus should be to serve people. Just focus on service and money will be the automatic reward. Money does not answer to prayer or fasting; it answers to service.
