The most deadly tsunami in history

On December 26, 2004, the earthquake that struck the oceans on the coast of Sumatra Island, Indonesia, killed thirty thousand two thousand people - from Indonesia to far south Africa.images (9).jpg

The center of the quake was 30 kilometers below sea level. Strong earthquake of nine decimal one to nine decimal three. Not only that, the earthquake has lasted about eight to ten minutes, which is a record. The entire geography or one centimeter shakes. Scientists named the earthquake Sumatra-Andaman earthquake.

Tsunamis caused by earthquake killed nearly two to thirty thousand people in 14 countries around the world. The tsunami swept away somewhere up to 30 meters high in the desert, destroying the houses and scorching people.images (13).jpg

Though it took several hours for tsunami after the earthquake, most of the coastal people could not understand the impending danger, as there was no tsunami warning system in the Indian Ocean. The warning system was established after the 2004 tsunami; Since 2006, this process has been active and proved its effectiveness after the 2012 earthquake in the Indian Ocean.

In tsunami, there are two thousand thirty thousand people, more than one hundred and seventy thousand of them in Indonesia. Afterwards, Sri Lanka, India - mainly Tamil Nadu - Thailand, Maldives and Somalia. Even in South Africa, eight people lost their lives in the sea and lost their lives. In all, one-third of the victims were children, and in particular special areas, Oxfam reported that three times more women were killed than men.images (5).jpg

After the tsunami of 2004, aid comes from around the world around $ 14 billion, especially for rebuilding. But the thousands of projects that were started are not known to have done all of those successfully. 146 homes of Sri Lanka's housing project in Sirikandwaarate have been disqualified for ten years. 100 boats have been lost in a fisherman village in southern Thailand, but they have been given 400 new boats. Due to the need for more boat in Nagapatnam of India, the fishermen are not getting any clay and are in conflict with each other.

A project manager from Oxfam UK told about the reconstruction process in Ace province of Indonesia, "They have created docks in the sea, but they are not being used. They have created the market but they are empty. They have created water tanks but they are not working. "images (14).jpg
