Money Lessons and Worksheets for 3rd Grade Math

In this activity we will discuss coins and bills for many countries. In third grade, kids should be able to recognize their country's coins and bills.

For example; in Canada the coins are penny (1 cent coins now out of circulation), nickel (5 cent coin), dime (10 cent coin), quarter (25 cent coin), loonie (1 dollar coin) and a  townie (2 dollar coin). Then there are bills such as $5 (5 dollar bill), $10 (10 dollar bill), $20 (20 dollar bill), $50 (50 dollar bill) and $100 (100 dollar bill).

Once kids know the change (coins) and basic bills better then they should be able to add or subtract the change and bills. In other words kids should be able to do money transactions.

For example; while going for groceries parents can ask the kids to guess the total price of two or three items such as a chocolate bar, a toothpaste and a cereal box. Price tags are on the items and kids should be able to add these prices.

Below are the resources online I have found to practice the counting coins and bills skills.

Good post, here's a tip....

Hundred Trillion? Wow, thanks for making me a trillionaire my dear friend :))

Too late, my dear @mathworksheets — third graders already count cryptos ;))

Grammatical error is nothing in Mathematical term. You have to see the posts quality. @grammarnazi stop to harass the public figures as @mathworksheets

You are absolutely right dear brother. Ha hahaa, you made me a public figure!!!

Your work made you a public figure. Love for you. Not flattering, it's 100% right

it's good when children know the value of money, thank you

Yes dear brother, children need to know about money and also how does it work later in higher studies (I think in most countries it is kept as a secret).

Great sheet will be sharing it with kids perfect for the summer vacay :)

@makhtarilyas, if @mathworksheets can display other country currency worksheets better for children's exercise. #mukhtarilyas

Yes, I wish I have included currencies of all the nations, dear friend!
