Simple English Class (4) - Much & Many
Good day Steemians and a sincere thank you for taking your precious time to read this post.
Today is going to be a very short post on the difference of much and many.
Much are used when the noun are uncountable. An example to be followed are as below:
There are not much water left in the well.
Do not put too much cream in the latte.
We had so much fun during our stay in Amsterdam.
It's raining very heavily but there are not much wind.
How much of this book is fact and how much is fiction?
Many, it's used when a noun is quantified.
Many graduates are right now jobless.
How many books do you read in a week?
The iPhone consist of many build-in software.
There are not many women who likes to get drunk.
James is freelancer, he does many job at once.
Still there are a number of people who use "many money". Many means a large number or countable noun. Since money is not countable (but dollars are), so the actual sentence should be as below:
My parents do not have much money.
I don't have much change. I only have 5 dollars.
I bet he have so much money at home that he can sleep on it.
