The society has become a very large one with different practice good or bad, looking on the bad side, there are alot of crimes going on in different and every coners of our society e.g

• Fraud
• Kidnapping/abduction
• Robbery/killing
• Gender discrimination(violence against women)
• Religious discrimination etc.
  These are few out of them all.
  Speaking of gender discrimination, alot of things fall under this especially on the weaker gender known as females.
  Females or better put women are faced with alot of discriminations and violence.

WHAT IS VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN?

women means any act of gender based violence that results in sexual, physical, emotional or psychological harm to women.An ongoing act of behaviour aimed at controlling a partner through fear, for example by using behaviour which is violent and threatening.In most cases, the violent behaviour is part of a range of tactics to exercise power and control over women and their children.These violent behaviour can be in form of physical, sexual, emotionl and psychological abuse.

• Physical violence can include slaps, shoves, hits of punches, pushing, being thrown from across the room, kicking, twisting of arms or even stabbing.
• Psychological and emotional abuse can include a range of controlling behaviours such as isolation from friends and family, humilations or being threatened with injury or death.
• Sexual violence can be in form of rape, being forced to early marriage, maltreatment from marriege, female genital mutilation etc.
  These violence has mental consequences , it negetively affects women's general well-being and pervent women from participating in the society.violence not only has negative consequences for women but also their families, the community and country at large.
  Various organisations have been put together to stop violence against women like the World Health Organisation(WHO)and many more but we should have this believe that violence against women can also be stopped starting from you and me, in our homes, families, schools, different place of worship, society and the country.

In my own opinion

Violence against women can be stopped by educating the soceity about it, stating the importance of women to the Society and the world at large.
Encouraging those that have been violated,helping them get back to who they used to be or who they want to become.
Violence against women can also be stopped by voiceing out, if by chance you come across someone who is being violated, report to the apporiate authority and follow up on the case.
We should be our sister's keeper as the case maybe and help eradicate violence against women.

My note to men

Treat women with love and care, they are weaker vessels and you are superior which makes you a protector and not a violator of women. Treat a woman the way you would treat your mother and sister because they also are women and what goes around comes around. Your arms should be a shield not a weapon. Use it well...
