What a wonderful post! It's really cool to know how you engaged the students. As I recall (It's been a lonnnng time) 8th grade students can be somewhat less than open to engagement.

Thanks for the post, and most of all for being a teacher. You add value to the world every day...

    Thanks so much... I absolutely love what I do. Grade 8’s can be hit and miss depending on the day for sure.
