EARTHQUAKE FOR CHILDREN.
Well do you not think we are learning a lot of interesting facts with Dr Binocs.
Today we are learning about earthquakes, it is very interesting.
Did you know that the earth moves all the time?
It is just that sometimes we feel it more than others.
We are told that they measured the earthquake on the Richter scale and they will tell us how strong it was.
The Richter magnitude scale is a scale of numbers used to tell the size of earthquakes. Charles Richterdeveloped the Richter Scale in 1935. His scale was based on the seismogram measured by a particular type of seismometer at a distance of 100 kilometres (62 mi) from the earthquake.
We are going to learn about the plates on earth and exactly what they do.
You must have learnt in school what to do if it is feel able.
But most of the times we cannot even feel it.
We will learn about the earth is like a jigsaw puzzle and is fitted together with lots of pieces.
Every piece is called a tectonic plate when they slide or slip or bump that is when we can maybe feel it.
If you watch this video you will know all about earthquakes.
I truly hope you enjoyed it and understand now how it is work.
Have a wonderful day from me here at the Wild Coast.
