My Response and New Beginning with Steemit Classes
Hello everyone
I hope you are all doing well and enjoying your lives.
Today I am writing this Post with two important Purposes:
- To give my honest response to the recent post and comment made about me and some of my student.
- To share the exciting news that after one month of hard work and continuous struggle I have finally arranged Free Steemit Physical Classes.
But before I go into the details of my classes let us first look back at the situation that created a lot of discussion about me.
The Concerns Raised About Me
Around 24 days ago in the Newcomers Community @adeljose made a post where some of my referred students were mention for not properly following the Steemit rules. I want to be clear and honest here
- Yes I agree that some of my students did copy my lecture notes and simply added a few lines on their own without much originality.
- I accept this was a mistake from their side but I also accept some responsibility because I should have done stronger guidance and Stricter checking.
Later in the same discussion @the-gorilla commented
“We have often had problems with people that @hamzayousafzai has introduced. He does ZERO due diligence and simply runs a course so the link to him is unsurprising.”
This comment really hurt me deeply because it made me look like some one who does not care or does not work hard. The truth is the Opposite.
My Contribution to Steemit So Far
I want to remind the community and the Steemit team of some facts:
- I have introduced more than 3 000 students to Steemit through my free Udemy course and personal guidance.
- Many of my students are now successful Steemians with some reaching a reputation above 70 which shows their consistency and contribution.
- Despite this only a few negative cases were highlighted in the report while the majority of my positive contributions were ignored.
But I am not here to fight for credit. I am not asking for recognition. I believe that Allah will reward me for the work I have done whether people see it or not.
Accepting My Mistake and Taking Action
I want to admit openly: I should have done more to prevent my course material from being misused. As I have already said before:
“I have now unpublished my Steemit course. Udemy is not allowing me to delete it completely. However from today onwards any student who joins Steemit using my name might have come through a leaked version of my lecture. I am aware that some students downloaded my lecture and shared it with others. Therefore I officially announce that no new student joining through my referral will be considered as coming from me. If anyone joins Steemit using my name from now on they do not belong to my team or under my guidance.”
So yes I unpublished my Udemy course. Even though I cannot delete it fully I have taken steps to stop further misuse. This was an important lesson for me and I will never make the same mistake again.
Starting Free Physical Steemit Classes
Even after I unpublished my online course many students kept requesting me to guide them on Steemit. After thinking for some time I finally made the decision to start physical classes instead of online lectures.
This is also special for me because I am already working as an instructor with Bano Qabil (Alkhidmat Foundation) where we provide completely free IT courses to students. We never charge a single penny from anyone.
You can learn more about Bano Qabil here: Alkhidmat Foundation – Bano Qabil
After discussing with the management Alkhidmat Foundation kindly agreed to give me space for Steemit classes. Of course I also had to contribute from my side to arrange things like:
- Classroom setup
- AC for comfort
- PCs for practice
- Projector for lectures
- Water cooler and other basic needs
This is not easy but I believe if I want my students to successfull on Steemit I must provide them with a proper learning environment.

Details of the First Class
Our first class was held on Friday 15-08-2025. Here is what I taught:
1. Introduction to Steemit
I explained to students from the very beginning:
- Steemit is a blockchain based blogging and social media platform.
- Users can earn STEEM SBD and Steem Power by creating original posts commenting and curating.
- Importance of following Steemit’s rules and community guidelines.
- Value of engagement and building a reputation.
2. Common Mistakes to Avoid
I showed my students the same mistakes highlighted by Greeters in the report about my past students. For example:
- Copy-pasting content instead of writing originally.
- Publishing very short or meaningless posts.
- Ignoring community-specific rules.
I told them clearly: If you repeat these mistakes your growth on Steemit will stop. Learn from the past and move forward correctly.
3. Understanding the Steem Wallet & Power Up
I also explained the Steem wallet in detail:
- STEEM → Liquid token for trading and transfers.
- SBD → Stable token mostly used in trading and payouts.
- Steem Power (SP) → This shows your strength on Steemit. The more SP you have the more your votes are worth.
- Powering Up is the best way to grow because it increases influence and shows long-term commitment.
4. My Old Students Joining Again
One of my old students @asma-khan also joined this physical class. She was mistakenly included in the list of students who made mistakes. In reality she did nothing wrong. Through these new sessions she will now improve her skills even more and avoid being misunderstood in the future.
5. Account Creation
At the end of the class I practically taught them how to create Steemit accounts. Almost all of them successfully created accounts and logged in.

Student Task
I gave a task to all students:
- Write an introduction post of at least 400 word.
- Send it to me for review.
Most of the students have already completed their introduction. We will start publishing them on Steemit this Friday.

Also to help them in their starting journey I will delegate 10 STEEM to each student. This will allow them to post comment and engage without any resource credit problems.
Total Cost of the Project
The total cost of this project is around 8 000 STEEM.
This includes:
- Classroom AC
- PCs for students
- Projector for teaching
- Water cooler
- Comfortable environment for learning
I believe the challenge faced with the previous approach (as intended in my comment at the time) is that users would follow the course (presumably unsupervised) and then appear on Steemit without additional guidance... as though "your job" was complete. The point at which they mention your name in the introduction, their actions will obviously reflect upon you and as we know, the negative will always overshadow the positive.
I commend you with this new approach - the ability to look the students in the eye and understand their individual objectives will help you to understand their intentions on the platform.
I wonder if your course would benefit if there was an additional level of freedom included. Similar to what we tried to introduce with the revised approach to Newcomers - helping each user to understand what interests are relevant to them. What motivates them and what drives their passion. Without this, these new users are going to be process-driven and could potentially lack the "character" (for lack of a better word) to stand out from the crowd. In my opinion, this is what's required to help the community thrive.
Of course, this doesn't guarantee the users won't become lazy - resorting to plagiarism or AI to make a quick buck and I fear that oversight will still be required.
So congratulations and well done on trying a new approach - perhaps an additional focus on "what makes each person unique", "how can I contribute something different" rather than "diary games", "contests" and "learning challenges" could bring a fresh lease of life and fresh feel to the community.

This is a good initiative for the students to teach them about Stemit and especially Steem Atlas. Physical classes can make more influence than just uploading course. I hope it will be successful.
If you need any guidance or help regarding Steem Atlas then feel free to contact me.
