Step by Step making of my Harry Potter portrait
Since I am a small child, I always dream of becoming a wizard because they are so cool. This dream started when I first watched Harry Potter movie, Harry is so cool because despite of being bullied in their house, he stood up and never gave up. He became a famous wizard and he inspired me to never give up, no matter what challenges are there.
I decided to draw him because he is my childhood inspiration. I used graphite pencils as my medium because it is my forte and for me, this artwork is really special.😇😇😇
I firstly start with a rough sketch in just an hour, after doing the sketch I started doing the eyes, nose and lips.
I really loved what happened to the Glasses because it is my first time doing a portrait with eye glasses. I used 2b graphite pencil for the skintone, then I also used blending stump to blend the skintone and make it smooth.
This is how it looked like: 😍 The picture is some kind of blurry because I only use my tablet in taking the picture.
After doing the face, the best part in graphite portrait is doing the HAIR, I really love doing the hair because it is really challenging and I enjoy doing it although it is really difficult.
Although it is difficult, I did not stop from doing it, just like Harry Potter I did not give up.
And the result shocked me because I spent 4 hours just doing the hair, I really focused my attention to the hair so that the result may look realistically. I used graphite pencil with grade of 6b and 5b for the hair, I also used cut eraser in making the white strands. I used my sister's phone in this picture.
After doing the difficult hair, I started doing the neck tie and his clothes.
This part is the best because I did not expect that I can do a realistic neck tie, I think it is just luck.
I really love what happened in the result. The picture was shot in the afternoon and our curtain was red and it blend to the ray of the sun which made an effect to the picture. (It was a cool effect)😅😅😅
Lastly, doing the Robe is some kind of also enjoying, I used cross hatching style in doing the robe so that it will look more realistic, I advice using 8b Staedtler pencil in this part, because Staedtler pencil are high quality pencils, and it is really useful when only using hatching style because it adds more effects.
This is the finished product, hope you guys like it! 😍😍😍
