APESWAP: APRIL DEVELOPMENT

ApeSwap, one of the top DeFi platforms on the BSC, witnessed a lot of traction in April. From the incredible all-time high total value locked (TVL) to $BANANA, the native token of the AMM, hitting double digits, the yield farming protocol witnessed it all.

It’s often easy for projects to get overwhelmed with the attention, affecting their dedication to project development. Fortunately, the ApeSwap team appear to have remained focus on the target, not letting shiny objects steal their attention.

Though TVL and $BANANA pricing stole the highlights, a lot happened in April that went under the radar. Here’s a breakdown of some of the worthwhile events that happened in April.

APESWAP BUILDL PROGRAM KICKED OFF

For ApeSwap, April started with the commencement of the BUILDL Program. Through the program, the yield farming protocol aimed to engender the growth of new and old projects on the BSC network through a mix of tutelage and guidance.

For projects to participate, they have to meet certain criteria, such as performance of an audit, have a decent community size, add liquidity on ApeSwap for the tokens, and a few others. The benefits outweigh the strains as they get financial help to settle most of their bills.

Frankly, it’s a win-win for both ApeSwap and the emerging project as all parties derive benefits from this collaboration.

HUGE PARTNERSHIPS ACHIEVED

Perhaps the month of April witnessed the most partnership deals involving ApeSwap. It rained partnerships in the Jungle as most reputable projects moved towards an alliance.

There were partnership deals with Squirrel Finance, Ontology wallet, and KeyFi. All of these collaborations happened in April.

For every partnership with these projects, liquidity pools were added, so apes can either earn more $BANANAs or the native token of the new partner or both. Of course, this trickles down to a greater amount of value locked.

GOLDEN BANANA REVEALED

Also in April, ApeSwap introduced the Golden BANANA ($GNANA) into the jungle. Unlike $BANANA, the tokenomics of Golden BANANA is rather intricate. Users suffer a 30% decrease (tagged as burn fees) for converting the luxurious Golden BANANA to the regular one and vice versa.

Yet, the GNANA is currently hyped as a loyalty rewarding token as long-term holders get access to certain perks not available to the regular BANANA. Some of these benefits include specific staking pools, IAOs, and of course, governance. The luxurious GNANA is being prepped for the core governance token position.
Though holding GNANA offers certain privileges, its burn fee is something anyone looking to pick the luxurious token should think twice about – you can’t buy $GNANA through the DEX or anywhere else.

THE THIRD IAO CLIMAX

After the successful creation of the ApeSwap launchpad, and the emergence of two new projects through the IFO, the third Initial Ape Offering (IAO) held in April.

This provided apes and humans with the opportunity to get to know BitFreshWin, a gaming project.
The BitFreshWin IAO was a success, and liquidity pools were created to put the new $BFT to work.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

ApeSwap enjoyed an excellent April, culminating in a larger TVL and the surge in $BANANA price. Will May build on the progress achieved in April, we will have to wait to find out.
