Why are Asian articles/posts trending more than other posts on Steemit

After sometime on steemit, I noticed that Asian posts are popular and trend a lot on steemit. Is this caused by their large population? Kindly discuss in the comments. I wish to be able to read those posts but I haven't learnt any Asian language yet.
