Why Steemit Dolphins/Minnows Will Become More Important Than Whales Part 2

You can find Part 1 of this article here.

Dolphins can do more then Whales in the long run when contributing to the Steemit community to prosper and grow within the sphere of Steem. They can be categorized as the middle class which makes Steemit Dolphins an essential aspect of a functioning economy. The middle class is widely accepted as the key economic group that stimulates growth and production.

Whereas the upper class (or Whales on Steemit) rarely create widespread FULL economic prosperity like the working class or middle class can with time. Whales can definitely assist individuals with gaining wealth as they have for me in the past. My point is they simply can't do it all themselves, especially since they have become a tiny minority alongside so many other users. We can't logically expect whales like @smooth and @ned to up vote every half decent post, we have to create wealth for ourselves and distribute it likewise.

I'd like to elaborate on Minnows AKA the working class of Steemit.

working class

noun

the social group consisting of people who are employed for wages, especially in manual or industrial work.
"the housing needs of the working classes"

Minnows, we are the working class! We fuel the engine that propels the Steemboat through the vast ocean of Steem. We provide confidence to the speculative market just by being new users and sharing it with people, the value then grows through increased contribution and sign ups. Traditionally the working class is regarded as the labour force that specialises in industrial or manual work. So, if the Dolphins are the backbone of the Steemit economy, Minnows are the arms and legs that keep shit moving.

Minnows drive the Steemboat into the future.

Without active Minnows the aspects of curating content and drawing attention to posts could be so much slower. Similarly, if the working class in Australia didn't show up to work for just one day progress would decrease rapidly. Of course you'd have middle class workers like engineers still toiling away, planning power stations and tunnels. But, who would actually build them?

Minnows aren't afraid to get their hands dirty just like their real life societal counterparts, this is necessary when you're finding your footing here or you don't have much experience in writing. The majority of them signed up in the last month or so, the strongest moments for the Steem market have occurred when there was an influx of fresh faces joining and communicating.

If you look up Minnow on Wikipedia this is the first sentence on the page:

"Minnow is a general term for freshwater and saltwater fish, especially those used as bait fish or for fishing bait"

It may be slightly crude, but the term bait fish is a well rounded representation of a Minnow's role within Steemit when curating posts. When multiple Minnows up vote something it attracts attention to the article, basically leaving bait that brings much larger fish/mammals to the post. This is important for the success of our beloved cryptocurrency because it's assisting us in spreading the wealth. Up votes from a large number of Minnows is concurrent with a post thats performs well. The poster of the article may receive those illusive up votes from Dolphins and Whales and it's mainly thanks to the Minnows that laid the bait in the beginning.

When a Minnow posts their own article or story it's a different but similar scenario. In this case they're realness and integrity is the bait. Not the up vote, it's YOU. For most users, being successful in their first half a dozen articles on Steemit greatly depends on him/her being themselves and presenting their most honest human side. That is the bait, your story, point of view and experiences.

Even after the bait is taken you still have to reel the fucker in through well written relatable content.

Minnows on Steemit are important just because of the sheer size of their group and the newfound enthusiasm they bring to the table. They bring confidence, if people don't have confidence in Steem the price will inevitably drop which leads to people powering down and cashing out which only further devalues the market, we've since this first hand in the last few weeks. When there is heaps of new users and Minnows taking part that's when we all prosper as a community and everyone gains something as the price of Steem soars. Nothings gives confidence to outsiders quite like seeing a new member cash out on one of their first posts (I know this helped bring me over, s/o @senseiteekay).

For Steem to grow it depends hugely on Minnows contributing and adding to the dynamic of Steemit.

Hope you guys enjoyed.

PEACE

I'm agree with you. Good article.
Thank you.

It will take time but it will happen. Eventually it will be more important to have a million minnows following you than a handful of whales. At that point it won't matter what the whales do so much.

Exactly right my friend. I'm sure all of the Whales are well aware of this to and working towards it. But like you said it will take time :)
