What are crypto-enthusiests not on Steemit saying about Steemit?
I don't lurk on any cryptocurrency forums, blogs, vlogs and news sites other than Steemit. I know there are people who do and don't believe in it. But I don't have my finger on the pulse of the cryptocurrency community to know its general outlook. Does Steem have more naysayers than advocates, visa versa, or are there only a handful of people even talking about it one way or the other? Can someone qualified to answer this question, clue me in: What's Steemit's general reputation in the cryptocurrency community?

I plan on writing a response to those points listed in the thread. The thread as a whole is an interesting read, with our resident Smooth involved. Steem used to have insane inflation so much of it no longer applies.
I think Steem is mostly flying under the radar out there right now. I am tracking mostly the decreasing Alexa rank, increasing page views and unique visitors as my main metrics of acceptance. Check @me-tarzan for those and more.
I am betting that Steem is a sleeper.
