URGENT: SteemIt To Attract Millions of Boomers and GenXers With This Marketing Trick?
Despite all the media coverage blockchains are getting... the majority of people are still skeptical.
And that's not good.
To overcome this skepticism and establish blockchains as the go-to financial solution, we need to do something different.
To quote Blair Warren's "One Sentence Persuasion":
People will do anything for those who encourage their dreams, justify their failures, allay their fears, confirm their suspicions and help them throw rocks at their enemies.
And if you look at the financial publishing industry, where people sign up (for thousands of dollars) to private newsletters, stock recommendations and financial advice, you'll see what I mean.
All these publications target a very specific demographic. Whether that's retirees, young crypto-enthusiasts, people who worry about their health, or old grumpy conservatives.
But that's not the best bit.
The most important lesson we can draw from these publications is that they fit their message to how the media speaks.
In fact, if you open any news outlet, you'll see a pattern emerging in how they convey new developments.
This is so that when you click from the actual news website (be it infowars, buzzfeed, breitbart, wsj or nyt), you still get the feeling that you're reading actual news.
And what you read will virtually always be at least related to what's going on in media at the time.
Here's how this happens:
- Shocking headline (so you click)
- Current event (to build authority and feel like legitimate news)
- Extrapolation from the current event into a problem or opportunity (building greed/ fear)
- Proof that the extrapolated outcome is likely (graphs and charts are pretty common)
- Twist into their commercial solution/ opportunity
- Call to action
This is what you'd call an 'advertorial' or a 'sponsored article'. And that's exactly the same tactic we need to use in order to build legitimacy.
But instead of selling them stuff... pull them into a community of like-minded people who will help them and make their lives better.
Just like... SteemIt.
Because at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how people get here.
What matters is that they stay, convert, and help spread the message of how SteemIt has improved their lives.
And all that requires is a modest budget for advertising, and a helpful community.
Both of which are already accounted for.
All that's lacking now is action.
