RE: Contest For Steemit Frontend. Content Discovery In Steemit - 100% Upvote. Total 3K Bounties Available

in #steemit7 years ago

One of my solutions was is regard to voting bots and promoted posts....Why not put the posts which have paid for bots to upvote them into Promoted, and leave the hot page as organic.....Better yet, let's incorporate eyeballs and comments into organic trending...

Sort:

Bot users will find out how to obfuscate bid process. You see, bid bot users pay for the first page at organic hot or trending.
They are not interested in fenced page otherwise they would use promotion.

And market will fill this need eventually.

markets and organic quality are two different things.

i'm just telling you what will happen. You can't fight the market by prohibitive and restrictive measures.

it's not prohibitive. It's not restrictive. It's called filtering.

We can do filtering, but we'll have to work within the market context. Filtering vote bots won't work unless we can identify vote buying efficiently.

With the current system this would have to be very crude. However SMTs and communities might make that easier.

I like the idea of separating (bid)bot votes out, super interesting to think how that shake things up!

This is noted.

@stellabelle, I have been following you for some time now since I joined steemit.com last October this year. I even saw that sort of parody video of yours regarding Steemit being uploaded on YouTube. Have read some of your written publications on Medium as well.

And I tend to be in alignment in your key ideas regarding some of the most critical aspects governing the Steem community including the creation of an AI overseer that is not easily threatened by Whales. #makesteemitgreatagain

Yes, Let's make an AI responsible for dealing with abusive whales....yeah, I am still for that idea..
