Hello fellow steemians, I use to earn my money with affiliate programs and that works very well. I've been thinking about how a affiliate program would work for Steemit.

This is just a concept and, for sure, there are Steemians that can do better than me working out this affiliate program.

Here is a example of how this could look like.

First there must be a affiliate pot for affiliate payout.

Every new Steemit account has automatically it's own affiliate link that user can use for promoting Steemit.

This can be something like this

https://steemit.com/12345

When someone signs up using this link, it becomes your affiliate. I think that this should be only 1 tier.

When somebody signs up for Steemit using your affiliate link, you then can earn also Steem and SBD of every post that this person is earning on. The higher the reputation becomes of this new user, the more affiliate income you earn from there posts. So you can only earn on quality users. You start earning only after the new affiliate reaches the reputation of 55-60

When your affiliate reached the reputation of. let's say, 60 you get 1% of his payout out of the affiliate pot. When you're affiliate reaches a reputation of 61 you get 2% etc. etc.

After your affiliate reaches the reputation of 70, you earn 10%. 10% is also the maximum affiliate bonus.

For example

When someone signs up throug your affiliate link, you also become his or her contact point for questions about Steemit. You can help him or her getting familiar with Steemit. Teach your affiliate to be a succesfull steemian.

In the affiliate page in your account you can track and contact your affiliates and track your earnings over them.

Maximum affiliate duration of 2 years. After 2 years you cannot earn over your affiliates.

How to pay for this

There must be a new so called "affiliate pot"

Use the promoting burn SBD

Stop attracting new users with sign up bonus and use this for affiliate payouts

Reduce the payout structure a little and use that for affiliate payout.

Use the Decline payouts for the affiliate pot

I think that by implementing a affiliate program where new quality user can be attracted, will boost Steemit. Steemit is still in Beta so maybe we can give this a try?
