Steemit Update [January 26th, 2025] : Steemit Learning Challenge - Applications Invited for Season 23

We hope you have all enjoyed Season 22 of the Steemit Learning Challenge.
Season 23 of the Challenge will be starting in early February.
Applications are now invited for the new season.
The Learning Challenge has generally been progressing well but we are becoming increasingly concerned by the growing use of AI for homework tasks - particularly in the text based challenges.
Therefore in Season 23 we will also be trialling something new - Steemit Learning Clubs.
How to Apply for Season 23
We are inviting applications from Teaching Teams.
Teams can just be one person - or they can include one assistant to help with marking assignment posts if they want.
Each Team should cover a particular subject area that they have specialist knowledge of such as photography or crochet or baking or spreadsheets or gardening or painting.
Teams will be expected to deliver a lesson in their subject area each week with a corresponding homework task. The six weekly lessons should ideally form a cohesive course in their subject area.
Teaching Teams should make an application post including…
- the subject area they want to cover
- details of their experience and expertise in the subject area be it professional or hobbyist
- three examples of the weekly lessons they would include in their course.
Additionally we would like teams applying to outline how they will ensure people will not be using AI to do their homework tasks.
There are no restrictions on Steem Power, Reputation, nationality, language or community affiliations. The only restriction is that no team member should be powering down.
Posts should also contain the contact details (Telegram/Discord) of all team members.
Posts should be submitted by 11:59 pm UTC, on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025.
Application posts should include the tag #teachingteam in the first four tags.
Checking & Grading Posts
Teaching Teams should promptly check all assignments.
They should each have a standard comment and grading format that focuses on the quality of the post and how well it has met the requirements of the assignment.
The comment does not need to include any other information about club status or beneficiaries etc. The only checks needed are for plagiarism and AI content generation.
Teams should review and grade participants’ homework posts promptly. They should have a wide enough spread of marks out of 10 and give detailed commentary on how posts can be improved. Good marking comments will be rewarded appropriately.
Homework posts from students following each course do not need to be posted in a particular community and should instead be tracked through the use of appropriate tags.
Selection of Weekly Winners
Each week we would like the Teaching Teams to make a post announcing the 4 best assignment posts for the week.
All the weekly winners, as well as the announcement posts, will receive extra prize votes from @steemcurator01.
Introducing Steemit Learning Clubs
From observing the Learning Challenge teams operating so far it is clear that it is the courses based around practical activities that are least likely to have their homework tasks done by AI.
We therefore want to experiment with Steemit Learning Clubs that will be based solely around practical activities.
These Learning Clubs will be run by teams of up to three Club Mentors who have experience and expertise in the area the Club covers.
Instead of setting specific tasks each week people will be invited to post about a project they have done, or are currently working on, during each week.
The Club Mentors will then comment upon, and give feedback, helpful tips and guidance for the project.
We will also be rewarding other people participating in the Club who give feedback and contribute ideas on other people’s posts.
Initially the Learning Clubs we will be looking to form will be…
- Cooking & Baking
- DIY (including for example decorating a room, building a bookshelf)
- Gardening & Food Production (including for example animal keeping, food preservation)
- Knitting, Crochet & Sewing
- Repair (including for example fixing a motorbike, mending a washing machine)
- Technology (including for example building a PC, installing a CCTV system)
As with the Learning Challenges, the Learning Clubs will make a post each week with their selection of the four best project posts that have been submitted.
Additionally at the start of the week, the Club Mentors should take turns in making a post about a project they have just completed or are currently working on, including tips about what they have learnt from the project.
If you would like to apply to become a Club Mentor, you should make a post including…
- the Learning Club you are applying for (from the list of six Clubs above)
- details of your experience and expertise in the subject area be it professional or hobbyist
- brief details of your history on Steem, and your current stats.
Application posts should include the tag #clubmentor in the first four tags, and be submitted by 11:59 pm UTC, on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025.
From all the suitable applicants we will select teams for as many of the clubs as possible.
In your application post you are welcome to suggest other applicants you would like to work with, but we may not follow those suggestions.
As this is an experimental project the rewards for the Club Mentors will be higher than those for the Teaching Teams.
We are excited to see how these Learning Clubs will work.
Steem has great potential as a learning platform but we must find ways to overcome the challenge of AI.
We welcome feedback on how we can build on and improve what we have started with the Steemit Learning Challenge program.
The exact number of Teaching Teams and Learning Clubs will be determined by the quality of the applications received.
The Crypto Academy will continue as one of the Teaching Teams.
People are welcome to submit applications for both the Teaching Teams and the Learning Clubs but they will only be selected for one or the other.
We hope everyone will enjoy #learningwithsteem.
Thank you
The Steemit Team
Greetings steemit team,
Thanks for the new update. Over the years, the Steemit team has brought various projects to us. Although they are actually good, some users have had to tighten the rules a bit because they are using tools like AI to do homework tasks. Introducing these new Steemit Learning Clubs will really help reduce the use of AI. Because it is a good way to reduce the use of AI to a great extent by doing practical activities and by doing challenges that have to be done, rather than tasks that have to be done by searching for information using various sources.
Some of are use AI tools to answer questions on complex topics that are not within the scope of their daily lives. Here, the user does not know the answer to the question asked, so he or she uses AI to write it. But if the questions are actually based on the activities of the users' daily life, they know about it well. For example, a woman who does housework often knows about things like cooking, baking, gardening. So she will not need to use another tool to search for details.
The knowledge possessed by each user is different. Some people can cook well. Some can make beautiful crafts. So it is best to increase such practical activities. Also, users should know, not to write about things they do not know. Not all of us can participate in all the courses in the learning challenges. If there are 7 courses, first look at the list and choose only what you can do and write a article about it. If there is something that you cannot write, leave it out. Personally, I don't participate in things like baking and cooking. Because I don't have the ability to do that yet, I avoid those courses. But I hope to learn those things. And if there are courses that I can do, like crafts, I do them. That's how it is, not everyone can do everything.

Thank you so much @miftahulrizky
Laffe instelling.
It’s right.
It's sounds great about steemit learning club ,it will certainly minimize and might be eliminate the Al content and users as well ,the learning challenges must based on practical and including the rules that for valid entry considered only when learner submit entry date , username along with current your work .I always participated in activities base challenges ever and submitted my best as possible and always got rewords from the big boss 🤗🤗 ,I highly thanked full for there kindness.
I really appreciate the practical presentation idea including by the steemit team in learning challenges ,theories based challenges never fruitful courses in my suggestion,if you did extra ordinary work and truly learned by the course it should be see in your work ,will definitely applying soon and join steemit learning club I strongly believed on hard work and dedication with honest and original content /work .

Good luck to you all .... 👍👍
🤝🤝
My regards to steemit team,
I wholeheartedly welcome this new initiative by steemit, but some questions remain unanswered in my mind.
It says that any member can apply to run this course, but he has to tell whether he is trained for this or he does this work as a hobby. This is the only shortcoming of this program, in fact when we are taking application from an amateur, then definitely he will use various external information to fulfill his ambition, AI will also be included in it. It will just get its work done by manipulating his words. That is why I believe that these courses should be invited only from a trained member.
Secondly, when the enlightened managers of the platform know that some users have used AI in answering the courses and preparing the course, then why no action has been taken against them till now. If strict action was taken against such members, then more people would have learned a lesson and they would not dare to repeat such mistakes.
It is not said that an amateur uses AI who says an amateur is worse than someone who get paid?
If I look at the teachers they all use AI, templates, search on the internet, use google, bots, tricks, and so on.
Also the increase of the use of AI on Steemit started with the "prof" teachers in the past months!
There was not 1 single AI generated entry during the writing courses only one person with 2 accounts who used with both accounts an entry of someone else.
So how come writing is fought, what about the preaching of "good content"?
Who forced so many into using AI to be noticed or better be upvoted?
How about teachers not able to explain in simple language, not giving the chance to learn? Can it be here is AI needed to translate, explain and if the vocabulary is too difficult to make the homework as well?
Would people learn if SC01 and SC02 would not give an upvote?
Let's give that a try and see how many AI entries there will be.
Hello Respected @wakeupkitty,
I really liked your clarity, I have no hesitation in accepting all your points. Then again one thing stuck in my mind that if these professor type teachers used artificial intelligence, bots, or tricks in preparing their courses. Or they were unable to explain their courses in simple language, then why their courses were accepted by steemit. Come, as per your guidance, now let us forget the past and move into the future, and see which courses get accepted this time.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for increasing my knowledge
With great respect and regards.
I don't believe that the Steemit Team is interested in the language or vocabulary used. As you can see there are no restrictions on who can teach even if this person can hardly write. They might look at reputation or go for what looks interesting or someone else for a change?
There are very good teachers if it comes to showing skills and there are plenty of great, skilled students who learn by watching and can do the same but if it comes to teachers and explaining (using words only/online or written text) this is a different story.
The use of AI increased, this is a fact
but I am saying that the high amount of AI entries is a direct result of the neverending forcing to write long epistles, how the SLC are promoted and what is taught by teachers. If people are forced to write long texts, forced to use translators, ask Chatgpt what is meant and still don't understand how or what, if teachers can't explain or give time to try out and learn the only solution is to let AI do the homework. How else can you join a course or make a chance to be rewarded by the highest two SCs and the Steemit Team says everyone has to join as many as possible SLCs to receive those rewards.
Not #we-write and also not what @joslud and @solperez taught were good for a high number of AI-generated entries and these were as far as I know the only writing courses thus far. They were different and it was hard if not impossible to let AI do the writing. So my question is why writers, those who love to write or like to try to write more creatively or better are not included if it comes to SLC?
I wish you a good Saturday and thank you for replying.
Hello respected friend, @wakeupkitty
I completely agree with the view expressed in your comment. You are quite right in saying that steemit team is not interested in testing any language or vocabulary or it can be said that they do not have sufficient means and resources to test the large number of applications received on various subjects and they select subjects only on the basis of reputation of the applicant or by looking at the interest of the subject or just for the sake of change. But perhaps it is also true that any teacher should submit his/her CV in which he/she should give proof of his/her knowledge of that subject or his/her expertise in that subject.
I have attempted only 5 exercises out of the total published of these teaching courses and tried my best in all of them very honestly without any help of Google reference or AI, but at the end I found that someone else who has written the exercise answer with the help of artificial intelligence or chetgpt got priority over my exercise answer, this made me very sad and I lost interest in these teaching programs completely.
At last I just want to say that I feel that for those people who are not interested in these subjects or do not have complete knowledge of these subjects, steemit team should keep organizing some general competitions as before so that other members like me also get opportunities to participate in them.
I have full faith in the ability of respected @solperez madam, and I have always seen that she has complete knowledge of her subjects, I do not know anything about the knowledge and experiences of other mentioned great people.
Have a great sunday.
With respect and honour.
I respect my knowledgeable and enlightened seniors, and get many opportunities to learn from them. A lot is happening on this platform that I had not imagined initially. But I have to keep doing my work. That's it.
With respect and honour.
Así vamos. Nada es perfecto, pero todo es perfectible.
By the other mentioned "great" people you mean those who started #we-write?
This was my idea and @inspiracion joined me.
Next the microstories were hosted by @joslud and solperez
Till today freewriters still write their way and are rarely flooded by AI. Why? Because we like to write, we write to fight writer's blocks, we are free, no restrictions if it comes to wordcount, no delegations, no expectations, no Booming vote - wars.
One can post or let it be. There's no need for the community to be bigger than other communities.
🍀♥️
🍀♥️
Respected @wakeupkitty
I am happy that there are people on this platform who believe in unbiased writing, free writing, flight of imagination in words, in fact it is also true that when we write keeping in mind any booming vote, any reward, any delegation, any word limit, then it has an adverse effect on our originality and the form of writing. We limit ourselves a lot in expressing our thoughts openly. Your idea of #we-write is very good, and the support of respected @inspiracion @joslud and @solperez in this is the proof of the fact that this is a great platform. Now I will also consider myself blessed to join this #freewrite or #maicrostories.
With respect and honour.
🍀♥️
👍
Thank You very much .
Gracias.
Hello friend, @menfita
I completely agree with the point of view given in your comment. It is true that any teacher should submit his biodata in which he should give proof of his knowledge of that subject or his expertise in that subject.
But I think that for those who are not interested in these subjects, some general competitions should also be organized as before.
With respect and honour.
Excelente.
Hello friend,
Now we have discussed this topic continuously, and anyway we can only give suggestions on this topic, it is up to the seniors of team steemit to accept or reject them. I think that when they will read all this, they will definitely pay some attention to this topic.
Thank you.
Why remove STEM content from learning challenges?
If artificial intelligence is the problem, there are many ways to solve the problem, for example:
Exercises can be requested in video format where each participant explains step-by-step how to solve it.
I think the solution was not to eliminate it, I am in steemit since September 2017 and I have always uploaded STEM content on my blog, so I think the solution is in the way to review the content, and also place the tasks with exercises that can be solved by the user in a video, and with this solve the problem of artificial intelligence.
I hope you consider the case.
I also find it strange that they have eliminated the physical education learning challenge, at least it would have been good to postulate a learning challenge associated with sport, physical activity and / or recreation.
They didn't mention removing STEM content from the learning challenges.
Ah ok, well we'll wait and see then
👍
Moción secundada.
Gracias por proponerlo @leigth.
Greetings and blessings friend @joslud thank you for taking into account my proposal and my feeling, for me particularly I see it and I feel that should be taken into account. It is a very important piece for those parents who have small children, that many times they draw what is happening to them, and we parents ignore, and it is a way for our little ones and adolescents to ask for help. Thank you very much for your appreciation. Blessings
I am a grandmother and my granddaughter draws a lot of cartoons, I would like to learn at least the basics to know how to read them. Or at least if we have some psychologist teachers I can ask for help.
This is also a good idea. I also noticed that most people can longer create a content because they depend solely on Ai. The worst part of it is that they manage to do in a way that if you try check or scan the text, the result will be AI free. But what makes me happy is that we have people who the knowledge to detect a content from Ai. I read @the-gorilla post about detecting AI and his suggestions was top notch. With the use of AI, they are doing their self bad than good.
Further I will not forget to mention that I have enjoy Learning challenge than the previous engaging challenge, as I learn different things every week. Most of the topic I like most is about trading with steem/usdt, analysis and so on. Out of it, I only participate once, I really enjoy myself as I was writing base on my experience and perspective. All thanks to the faithful steemian who turn up to share good quality content with us. The deserve the best.
Now to the club, am just curious to ask, is the project open to everyone to participate, can anyone submit his or her own project?
Curated by : @miftahulrizky
Thank you @miftahulrizky, what do you think about steemit learning club?
I think the content of the announcement is quite clear, the teaching team challenge is general, while the learning club is a practical challenge.
Anyone who has the skills and their proposed project is good enough, please apply.
Good day. @steemmexcz my account on Steem Wallet
Please help me.
I wanted to check how deposits and withdrawals work from this wallet.
I deposited $100
Then I tried to withdraw them, but they didn't come back to my wallet on another Exchange in the Steem coin format
mxcsteem - this is the deposit address where i put my 100 dollars for withdrawal in the format Steem
Can you please check this?
I have not received the funds transfer.
I was not asked for a memo code.
STEEM
Liquid digital tokens that can be transferred anywhere at any time.
Steem can be converted into STEEM POWER, a process called "Voting Power".
that's what it was written. I did it that way.
Please help me figure out where the 100 dollars went missing
So.. if no one can write and everyone is using AI which is forbidden how can the homework be posted?
If you can read you have the answer to your question.
You ask me if no one can write and everybody is using AI which is forbidden who will post the homework right? For what I have noticed about this AI matter it's very simple if somebody wants to use AI you can just make a reference to make it easier for anybody that review the course. I know that some topic or learning challenge can be complicated in a way that you might need to do some research to gather more ideas in order to participate but even if you're doing so you need to set the source that..... Oh ... This is where I get the idea from instead posting it as if you own the idea. Don't take it personal when I use the word "You"😁. Am just trying to explain it the way I understand.
Excelente propuesta.
Querida, amiga.
Prepárala y lánzala en modo de prueba.
Eso te dará autoridad para proponerla.
Jajaja. No sé si tenga tiempo.
Indeed a great positive change and there would be many new things to learn, I hope in this challenge the professor would be active in review rather to see the unreviewed posts for many days.
That is an interesting fact
I applaud such changes for increasing prosperity on the Steemit platform. This will be a great way to present Steemit as a transparent and quality-compliant platform. I think learning practical topics would be a great strategy to keep posts free from abuse. Better life and learning with Steemit will take this platform to greater heights. Steem on...
Do you know how the homework will be posted? If no one can write and AI is not allowed
What do you think? Are you trying to explain something to me? I don't know anything? If you can explain, I can understand. 😄😶
Greetings steemit team!
There is no any doubt that steemit learning challenge was the great initiative on this platform, giving a chance to learn something about a specific field. Learners can get knowledge about the field of their interest. Inshallah I will also submit my application as a teacher of my specific field.
