With us you can make an appointment online... with some student or ???? You should just know 3 months ahead when you intend to get ill or have an accident.
Well, there is a centralized site for making appointments with some of the doctors but then, in order to take advantage of the obligatory national medical insurance, I have to take a Referral Letter from my GP and this means I have to make an appointment with the GP first and that almost never happens on the phone and isn't available as online service at all for the time being...
(as an undernote - millions of EUR are spent here each year for national online services...)
The only thing that I recall being changed in the last year actually is the requirement to have an electronic prescription from a doctor in order to be allowed to purchase any antibiotic from a pharmacy.
Thank you, @wakeupkitty and I wish you a lovely evening :)
That electronic recipe we have since longer. New is you can now order online with the pharmacy of your choice otherwise it goes to the nearest one.
First we need to make a doctor's appointment (the one who wrote as the covid started they would close because they had to think about their own health.. what a joke). After that you might be send to the hospital and call for an appointment first (another 3 months waiting unless the doctor makes the call). Never full examination, every step a different appointment...
I truly wonder where all the complaining comes from sine they close at 4, don't work during lunchtime, never a full week and start at 8 with coffee.

Here no attachment to a particular pharmacy, the customer decides but then there is a risk the drug is out of stock and this means going to other pharmacies. Definitely needs some improvement.

Doctors never call here, so yours is much better. Also, the Referral Letter here is valid only for one month so quite often the doctors, especially the best don't have an opening during that month so the Letter "burns" and a new one must be issued following the standard protocol once again. A nightmare sometimes. Some of the GPs with many "clients" try to limit the Letters too, some even lie there is a limit.
Changing a GP here can happen only in June and December. Another wonder of the Bulgarian health system.
Interesting fact, when I was learning French, 1/4 of my class were Ophthalmologists, who needed to learn French so they go work in France.
Our docfor only calls in high emergencies or not. You are not allowed to visit ER or call the ambulance and more nonsense. It's better not to try 112 either big chance they tell you no one will come for such a nonsense.
Those lettees most likely they are send digital to the specialist. It's also a burden to see a glance of your medical file. They can write what they like.
Indeed!
