My very first Post has been my introduction as I had enough time to figure out that it's important while I was waiting for my account to be approved :)
Regarding your mention on @thecryptofiend and his Post on Comment voting I think flagging spammers and rewarding quality is just the best approach. Only this way people will learn that Steemit isn't like other social media but ways more ;)
