My Journey with Steem-The END? (Help Needed)

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Five days ago i wrote this post @steemit as i was very excited about joining steemit.
https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@shubham1696/my-journey-with-steem-the-beginning

But after these five days i had not even progressed a bit and i think i am going to delete my steemit account soon. When i joined steemit i was very sure that i am gonna get success here for sure unlike others where i have always failed. But looks like here also i failed. Is it my fault or steemit is just not good for beginners and only whales can thrive here?
As i can't invest money to buy steem power as i don't have it because i am student from india so i don't think it will be easy for me to get success here.
But i still feel i am doing something wrong and i want support from the people like @whales or anyone who even got little success here. Please give me some suggestions how i can thrive here without any investments.

Your lack of success might be tied to your willingness to give up easily. And I don't mean to be rude, at all.

I just work in sales, myself, and have learned that even on a really, really, really bad day, you will be rewarded if you just keep friggin trying.

It's hard, but life is.

Actually, I agree with you. I just realised he has obtained 114 followers in 5 days, he should be stoked!

i am not excited because i followed 600 peoples and some of them followed me back. They do not followed me because they liked my post. They just followed me back :( @cathi-xx

Actually i think you are right that i am giving up so early but i had tried on other websites to earn but always failed. I think i am fed up. Btw Thanks..........i will try hard @schattenjaeger

It took steemit itself over three months to become successful, same for a number of steemians. Do not expect within a view days success.

thanks for some motivation @steempowerwhale

Steemit is frustrating if you take it TOO seriously. The somewhat ugly truth is that it resembles real life in two manners a) if you are not rich you have to work hard to accomplish only a small fraction of what rich members can accomplish without trying, and b) the more people join the platform the less noticed each member will be - UNLESS they fall in the trap to pay money to promote themselves (which by the way pop publishing houses do, they count on your thirst to become someone). Keep trying to do better not for the money but for yourself. Eventually I am sure you will make it!

thanks for suggestion and yea i think i take it too seriously.........may be i need a break

I think you got what it takes to pretty much everything. Faith and enthousiasm. Don t give up. Just don t take it in. Few votes is the mainstream.

It just occurred to me that your issue might simply be due to time zones. Are most Steemlings in the US? Maybe the majority are asleep when you post and by the time they are up, your posts are buried by newer posts.
I'm in the UK and I normally wouldn't Steem until the evening, on the new tab, so I would miss your stuff.

can you please tell me the timings you find best to post? @cathi-xx

I haven't found a best time because I hadn't thought of it until I wrote the above comment. I would guess that US time, in the evening, would be the best time.

I feel your pain man . Yesterday @steemed cut off my rep from 37 to 17 just because of my stupid comment in one of the posts . By me it is misunderstanding and i'm not mad , what can i do . I see a lot of people struggling around while others are in heaven . But i'm not giving up .

thanks bro, you motivated me a little :) @iggy

DUDE, Six days and you are ready to give up. It takes time to build relationships and generate who you are and the gift you are to the party. Share some more posts about you, your life, your loves, your challenges. This is an engaged audience as far as I can tell, more intimate than others. Not just a bunch of reposting dribble but authentic people sharing themselves. Share more..... love the journey. oc

A couple of tips that I didn't see mentioned:

  • Just a good fyi, after 4 posts per 24 hours there is a payout penalty.
  • I've seen you in the steem.chat which is good, but you might try finding articles by others that you like and leave meaningful comments. It's a great way to start conversations that can translate over to your posts.
  • The follow for follow, vote for vote thing can only go so far. Try to find people that you honestly like, care what they have to say and vice versa. These more organic relationships will garner much more success in the long run.

oh thanks for suggestions :)
