I start to understand a little bit about Steemit 我好像有点懂steemit了

My dear steemians:

As you can see from my homepage, I’ve joined steemit for half a year. However, I only started to blog intensely since last month, I didn’t write a single word for a period of four months. Why? I guess because I didn’t know what steemit is about. I thought it is just a social platform where instead of sharing your stories and pictures for free (like Facebook )you get paid for your work. Why do you get paid? Of course because your work is worthy. But, no, it is too subjective to evaluate if someone’s article is worthy or just a waste of time. I get discouraged, I don’t think people in this community would be interested to read my stuff, which are too literary or artsy. As time pass by, I get to know more about “crytocurrency”, “blockchain”, “privacy transparency”, “decentralized governance”, I start to realize there is a greater message this steemchain is carrying.

It is not a community full of programers, or more precisely, the programmers are not only programmers, they are thinkers, as you can see from @Dan’s article “Does Freedom Require Radical Transparency or Radical Privacy?”, he was picturing a decentralized world, where transparency of privacy grants us more freedom.

Of course this structure has so many problems, such as buying votes, charging steempower to up vote yourself, leaving affected replies to grovel to Big Whale for their votes. Some antisocial type people get discouraged more because they just hate socializing. But the creators and some community members are contributing more to upgrade it. Such as OCD project @acid @htliao which intends to uncover articles that are written with great efforts and superior quality but are undervalued(below 10 SBD).

As far as I am concerned, steemit is a platform which stands amid content dominant sites and social websites. Content is important? yes, but it is not that important, since if no one is building this platform and providing you service and upvoting your post, your article will be wasted anyway. Conclusion: be grateful, don’t get distracted by steem value or other user’s wallet. Complain less, write more.
