    Not directly. But Steemit is a community and resteeming a good post helps in two ways:

    • by making your followers aware of excellent posts you've read (without abusing of resteems). If your followers are interested, they will be grateful you shared it.
    • by spreading the post to more people. Authors always love when their posts are resteemed. Usually they will check out your profile and they might upvote/comment on one of your posts, or upvote your comment (but don't ask for an upvote!).
