Steemit is a great idea - next generation of social media platforms

I think steemit represents a great idea and this type of platform is going to be the next generation of social media. One problem with it currently though is a huge barrier to registering a new account. I just registered this account, and it took 5 days for it to get authorized. In the mean time I had actually forgotten I even registered here and was just reminded when I saw the notification email. I worry that for large scale adoption something will need to be changed in that regard. Despite that, I'm really excited for this project, it's a great idea and will support it any way I know how.
